Mitten Tree Project - Update

In 2017, we received tremendous response from Gates families and donated over 175 gifts to families in need. We are very excited to sponsor this project again and have adopted 15 families through the Acton Housing Authority.
It is a challenge for these families to provide for the basic needs of their household and children. So, to provide gifts over the holidays can be an extra challenge that is not always possible. Receiving gifts through donors such as the Gates Mitten Tree Project makes such a difference in their lives and really helps the family to enjoy their Holiday.

Approximately 30% of the gifts on the Mitten Tree Project sign up have not been selected yet. If you can, please consider purchasing a $20-25 gift card, warm clothes or small toys. You can select an item that still needs to be purchased by clicking on the signup

Wrapped gifts with the mitten label attached and filled out should be returned to the donation boxes next to the Mitten Trees in the classroom pods.  We ask that all gifts be returned by Monday, December 10th.

Thank you for helping us make the holidays special for families in need, in our community.

Hello from the Health Office!

We're anticipating an increase in illness as we get into the Winter months. Please be sure to alert the Health Office if your child is diagnosed with Strep, gastrointestinal illness, the flu, pneumonia or other serious illness.

It's a great time of year to discuss illness prevention with your families. Some of the best ways to prevent illness include:

  • Hand washing
  • Getting enough sleep
  • Covering your cough
  • Staying at home when not feeling well

Children should stay home if their temperature is 100 degrees or more. They should not return to school until temperature has been normal (97-99) for at least 24 hours  without  medication.

See this link to our website for further guidance on attendance for a child with a medical concern.
