Activity Day Planning is Underway!

Activity Day is coming up on Friday, June 8th. Activity Day is a day when the whole school goes outside to play games on the Gates fields. The day starts with a Fun Run around the school and ends with a picnic lunch and dancing. Lots of help is needed to make this day a success, so please sign up HERE to see how you can help.

Parents and siblings are welcome to purchase lunch during activity day. Click HERE to see the prices, times, and lunch menu items. Please reach out to Kara Bayer with any and all questions about Activity Day.

Thank you,
Kara Bayer, Activity Day Chair
Coming Soon: The 6th Grade Play

This year the 6th-grade classes are doing 12 mini plays around civilizations (some are made up) and mythology. These plays are written entirely by the students themselves. We are doing two performances:

  • Wednesday, 06/13/18 from approximately 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm. This is a sit-down performance for families and parents with all 12 plays in succession.

  • Thursday, 06/14/18 starting approximately at 10:30 am throughout the day. This is NOT a sit-down performance. It is for the students and classes will be coming in and out during intermission, so kids don’t have to sit through all 12 plays.

Due to the format, we are encouraging families and parents to attend the Wednesday night performance if they want a better viewing of the plays without interruptions. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact teacher June Montepeluso .
Hello From the Health Office!

As you all know, Gates is now serving Breakfast. Breakfast is available to students 20 minutes before school starts.

Breakfast Menu:
Choice of: blueberry muffin, whole wheat bagel with cream cheese, OR choice of cereal.
Fruit and milk included with breakfast.

$1.75 for breakfast*

*If you are eligible for free lunch you are also eligible for a free breakfast.
*If you are eligible for a reduced lunch you are eligible for reduced breakfast at $.30.

Parents, please be aware that many students come to the health office daily to obtain a snack. Children's minds function better when they have a healthy snack. Our supplies are mostly donations and are depleting quickly. Consider encouraging your child to purchase breakfast on those days they might forget a snack as well as on those days when there's no time for breakfast. There is always enough that they can use the extra breakfast food as snack.

Thank you.
Diane Spring and Victoria Reierson
