The Gates Fun Run Kicks Off This Wednesday!

We can't wait to kick off our Gates Fun Run program in just a few days. As our biggest fundraiser of the year, we hope to raise $30,000 for Gates School. Please remember the Gates Fun Run is in place of the Auction this year. Pledging will begin on Pep Rally day Wednesday, October 10th and your child will be coming home with a pledge book, so be on the lookout. Pledges are entered on funrun.com using our school registration code 739864 or by searching for our school name starting on Pep Rally day. Please connect to sponsors—friends and family via social media who can donate to help our school.

Please check out our Gates Fun Run webpage for more information and the latest updates. We are looking for parents to lend a hand in the days leading up to the Fun Run, as well as helpers the day of the Fun Run. Please click on the sign up links below to volunteer:

If you have any questions please contact Naomi Phaneuf and Donna Harrington . Thanks in advance for supporting the Gates School. Every pledge counts!
Thank you for the Book Fair support!

Thanks for all those who supported the Book Fair and Coin drive.

We were able to meet our Author visit budget and over $650 dollars worth of books were donated to our teacher classrooms!

If you have any interest in helping with the book fair in the years to come please contact the PTO so we can continue to provide this great yearly tradition for the children .
ANNUAL FAMILY PHOTODAY Fundraiser

Get ready to capture your family's memories for a lifetime in a way that’s fun, convenient and benefits our school.

Come have your family photos taken at Acton Arboretum (Location May Change Due to Lighting and Weather) on Saturday, Oct 20th from the hours 9 am - 2 pm.
LOCAL Professional Photographer: Jan Couch

The cost of this fundraiser is $48. Our school receives $30 for each photo session. This fee includes a 15 minute photo session and Jan will turn your favorite pose into a beautiful 8x10 family portrait.

Are you new to Gates? Need more information?? Our school has run this fundraiser for quite a few years now. Jan Couch is the local photographer who will be assisting us with raising money for our school. She is a phenomenal photographer who is donating her time and experience to provide us professional family photos at a HUGE discount price. All you need to do is request an appointment time on Saturday. Once you receive confirmation of the appointment, you need to send in a check to the school office. On the date of the appointment, you come to the location and check in with a parent volunteer . Once Jan is ready for you, you will receive a 15-20 minute sitting session. I will provide you a password for the website. When you receive an email stating your proofs are ready, you will be able to review all proofs online with your assigned password. You will then be able to choose your favorite photo and pick your 8x10 photo for print. If you are interested in additional digital images, you can place the order on Jan's website and she will forward them to you, after payment.

The 8x10 will be printed and available for pick up at Gates School. Date TBD

There’s no easier or more affordable way to get quality, professional family portraits.

It's fun and easy... plus, it benefits your school too!

Is Girl Scouts for your daughter?

Girl Scouts is a program that is designed to be girl powered, girl led, and girl inspired. Troops meet once or twice a month for activities chosen by the girls in which they discover, connect, and take action about topics which interest them. From the traditional outdoors, cooking, and first aid to the new programs in robotics, eco-science, and engineering, Girl Scouts allow girls to learn leadership skills, make new friends and perform community service while having fun. An astonishing 80% of women entrepreneurs were once Girl Scouts! We are forming new troops in kindergarten and first grade at Gates school during the month of October, and would love to hear from you. Meeting times and frequency are chosen by the troop volunteers in consultation with the parents and girls. Some troops meet after school, while some meet on weekends.

Please contact us or join up at  www.gsema.org/join  . For questions, please contact Sarah Gold or Trina Toups
