New Event: The Gates Fun Run!

We are excited to announce a brand new event this year: The Gates Fun Run . Having this event means there will be NO auction this year. As our biggest fundraiser of the year, the Gates Fun Run kicks off with a Pep Rally on 10/11/17 and ends with a walk/run on 10/20/17. Family and friends anywhere in the world can support our school by giving pledges toward the number of laps (30-35) your students will run, walk, skip, or even dance on the day of the Gates Fun Run. Students will also engage in Castle Quest -an English castle themed program designed to help kids learn about: Focus, Self-Awareness, Respect, Trustworthiness, Creativity, and how to be a Life-learner.

Powered by the experts at Boosterthon, we are hoping to raise $20,000 for Gates School. So please help our school by reaching out to your friends and relatives for support. Families are welcome to come out and cheer on your student the actual day of the run. More details to come in the weeks ahead!

The Scholastic Book Fair is Almost Here

Each year the Gates Library is turned into a Bookstore for the entire week. From 09/25/17 to 09/29/17 parents, neighbors, and book lovers are welcome to stop by and purchase books. Students will visit the fair with their class and information packets will be sent home. In addition to purchasing books for themselves, students can also purchase and donate books for their classroom. All money raised goes towards funding the Author Visit program at Gates.
In order to make the Book Fair a success, we need parent volunteers to assist students with selecting books and making wish lists. Volunteer signup will be coming soon.

The All 4 Books Coin Drive

As part of the Scholastic Book Fair, we collect spare change during the All 4 Books Coin Drive from 09/18/17 to 09/27/17. All money raised goes towards purchasing more books for our school and Scholastic Books will donate one book for each dollar raised to help children and families in need.

Coin collection jugs are located in your child's classroom. All money collected will be combined and divided between the teachers at Gates. Additionally, the two classes that raise the most money will get a selection of bonus new books for their classroom. Last year we raised just over $800, help us beat that goal this year!  All that spare change really adds up and puts more books in your children's hands.
