Love & Marriage
Traditionally June was the month to be married. Lately it seems the hottest picks are now in autumn, September and October in particular. For those of you married many years ago, you'll be surprised to learn the average wedding in Dane County will cost the happy couple (or their parents) around $35,000.
In 2013 Grace will see 20 weddings, with a few more sure to trickle in from last-minute planning. Seven excited couples have already booked their 2014 nuptials.
According to Grace Wedding Coordinator, Pat Werk, couples find Grace an ideal place to plan a wedding for two main reasons: (1) the church is visually stunning both inside and outside (the red doors and courtyard make for popular posing spots) and (2) our prime location close to reception venues, hotels, and the beauty of the Capitol Square and lakefront make for an enjoyable and convenient time for guests and the wedding party.
A local photographer recently made this video of a wedding at Grace showcasing the sacred, sentimental, and fun elements of holding a wedding ceremony here (Grace enters the video around 1:30.):

If you know a couple soon to be married, please be sure to suggest Grace. Both Episcopalians and non-Episcopalians are welcome to be married here. Some couples are married by Jonathan while others choose to bring in their own officiant. A wedding guide at the Grace Weddings Page helps couples navigate fees, schedules, and the like. Pat Werk can be reached by phone (608-213-7558) or e-mail.
Also feel free to check out the Grace Church Madison Weddings Facebook Page. (You don't need a Facebook account to see this page.) There are lovely photos from past weddings, including the recent wedding of Steve and Sue Webster's daughter, Mackinnon.
It seems no matter what the time of year, love is always in the air at Grace.
