Dustin Fuqua of Cane River Creole National Historical Park in Natchitoches Parish and member of the Sassafras Society working to preserve the gumbo file tradition, will give a presentation on the historical importance of rivers in our area. Participants will be guided through a study of antique maps as well as an opportunity to learn about bousillage, a building method utilizing clay and Spanish moss unique to Louisiana. All against the backdrop of our current exhibition on view: The River is the Road: Paintings by George Rodrigue. Renegade Tours are FREE and open to the public!

AMoA Summer Art Camps are available for children ages 6-12 years throughout the central Louisiana area.
Campers participate in a variety of engaging art activities during two week-long sessions that are divided into age groups for the most impactful experience.
- 6-9 year olds meet from 9am-12pm
- 10-12 year olds meet from 1:30PM-4:30PM
July 14-18 Gallery Groove with Cindy Cooper Blair
Campers will participate in fanciful, imagination-stretching art activities inspired by the art in AMoA’s galleries. Campers will spend the week working in the gallery to create a variety of works with the guidance of AMoA Educator Cindy Cooper Blair.
July 21-25 Create and Connect with Carolyn Scalfano
Young artists will join Teaching Artist Carolyn Scalfano to discover, explore, and express themselves through art. Studying diverse artists and using different forms of art as a means of communication, artists will create stronger connections with their peers, communities, and the world around them.

Responsibilities include cleaning and maintenance of (2) Performing Arts Venues as well as classroom and office space in (2) buildings separated by one block in Downtown Alexandria Louisiana.
