Wind upon the waters, rains upon the sand,
grace your sons and daughters, newborn by your hand.
Come, O Spirit, and renew all the life that comes from you,
send your winds upon the waters of my soul.

Thanks to the community of folks who tend the garden! | |
Remember concentrating on something that led you to a feeling of accomplishment? And an activity that helped you remember words that you had not thought about for ….. years??!!!
Joyce O’Shea and Caroline Ory Thompson are seen below enjoying a weekly meeting of the minds. An idea took root recently that perhaps there are others in our congregation that would enjoy the challenge of Scrabble with one of the most literate of our congregation: Joyce! She has a PhD in English, and Joyce has graciously given new words for scrabble to Caroline and Natalie during the games over the past couple of months.
If you like the idea of meeting with some friends to play various games to stimulate your mind, talk with us and perhaps we can have Backgammon, Rummikub, Hearts, or other board games that appeal to you on a regular basis at the educational building. We are up for increasing the participants; and by the way, there are always snacks to go along with the activity!!!

Wilhelmina Dickey
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wilhelmina Kuehn Dickey "Wilma" on Sunday May, 14th. Born on April 26, 1937, in Columbus, Ohio to a German immigrant couple, Wilma went to Ohio State University where she met the love of her life, Richard P Dickey, who sadly passed earlier this year. She was a devoted Nana to eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter, and mom to Jeffrey (Alissa), Lorelei, Suzanne, and David (Caroline). In addition to her many adventures, she also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer, where she made an indelible difference to many lives and families.

PROPERTY UPDATE:
Windows: The work on the windows in the sanctuary has been completed. Thank you to those folks who have given money to help with replacing the cathedral glass. And thank you to those who have cleaned the dust and broken glass left behind after the extensive work. We were fortunate to have a stained glass company out of Baton Rouge who was willing to tackle the job.
Roof: The work on the roof (all three!) will begin June 12 if the weather cooperates. Green Roof Construction has been selected to do the job. The process for replacing the roof should take about a two - three weeks. Be prepared for a little disruption to the FCC Campus, but it will be worth it.
