City Park Players presents: Rumors
Hearn Stage/Kress Theatre
1102 3rd St. Alexandria, LA
October 23rd-26th
Time: See "Tickets"
What do you get when you mix a fancy dinner party, a missing host, a gunshot, a double-helping of lies, and a whole lot of neuroses? A farce so fast-paced it’ll make your head spin faster than a politician caught in a lie!
When New York’s elite gather for an anniversary party, things go hilariously off the rails as the first guests arrive to find the host shot (but not dead!), the hostess missing, and absolutely no one willing to call the police. Instead, they do the only logical thing: cover it up—and badly.
Expect slamming doors, mistaken identities, and enough escalating chaos to make your family Thanksgiving look like a Zen retreat. Neil Simon’s "Rumors" is a high-octane comedy where the secrets are juicy, the lies are plentiful, and the truth doesn’t stand a chance. Advisory: Strong language, Adult themes. Directed by Jared Guillory.

Friday, November 21, 2025
Time: 7:30 PM
The Arts Council of Central Louisiana presents: One Night Of Queen with Gary Mullen & The Works!
‘More than a likeness’ - Brian May, Queen
For over 20 years Gary Mullen and The Works have been performing their world-renowned One Night of Queen live concert. Gary Mullen & The Works featuring Gary Mullen on vocals, David Brockett on guitar, Malcolm Gentles on keyboards, Jon Halliwell on drums and Alan McGeoch on bass guitar will have you dancing in the aisles during their show, while the band pays tribute to the stage theatrics, showmanship, and music of arguably the greatest rock band of all time: Queen. In 2000, Gary Mullen won the Granada TV programme “Stars in Their Eyes” with his performance as Queen’s lead singer: Freddie Mercury. Mullen’s embodiment of Freddie Mercury resulted in him gaining 864,838 votes in the show’s Live Grand Final. The number of fans who voted for Mullen was more than double that of the runner-up, thus setting the all time record number of votes in the history of the programme. For over two decades, Gary Mullen & The Works have performed to audiences around the world, playing more than 2,500 live shows to audiences in over 20 countries - performing and selling out many of the same venues that Queen have, all around the world. As of 2023, they are the most successful tribute band in France, playing to over 250,000 people!
They WILL ROCK YOU and are GURANTEED TO BLOW YOUR MIND! Don’t miss your chance to celebrate One Night Of Queen with Gary Mullen & The Works! The Show DOES go on!

Local State Legislator recognized for his advocacy and dedication to the Arts in Louisiana
The Louisiana Partnership for the Arts recently awarded Mike Johnson with the Art is Life-Legislator of the Year award in Baton Rouge.
"Honored to be named the 2025 Legislator of the Year by the Louisiana Partnership for the Arts. This incredible organization champions the artists, educators, and creative communities that make our state so vibrant.
For me, this isn’t just about policy—it’s personal. I saw the power of the arts through our daughter, Lacey. Her school’s art program didn’t just teach her technique—it unlocked a passion that led her to become a professional artist. Watching her grow into her talent showed me just how deeply the arts shape lives.
Grateful to support a mission that keeps Louisiana’s creative spirit thriving."
-Mike Johnson
