REALTORS Successfully Completed their CIPS Designation with EBCBOR!
Realtors across New Jersey and Chicago successfully completed CIPS Designation Institute with EBCBOR this past week. The courses were given by EBCBOR's Director and instructor Ali Memar of RE/MAX Select Properties - Fort Lee. Court Reinstates Decision Supporting NAR Position on Marketing Service Agreements
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit has reinstated its prior holding that payments for bona fide services provided and made at fair market value do not violate the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA). This decision reinforces NAR's support of marketing service agreements.

Cellphone for Soldiers with EBCBOR & Chase!
All through March, The EBCBOR Community Service Committee and Chase are teaming up with Cell Phones for Soldiers, a national nonprofit dedicated to providing cost-free communication services to active-duty military members and veterans. By donating gently-used cell phones you are providing free calling cards to active-duty military members to connect with loved ones as well as assisting veterans with emergency funds to alleviate communication challenges as well as physical, emotional and assimilation hardships.
The exclusion for forgiven home mortgage debt following a foreclosure, short sale or loan modification should be made permanent to provide relief to troubled borrowers and minimize the damage to families, neighborhoods and communities. That's according to testimony today from the National Association of Realtors® before the U.S. House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Tax Policy at a hearing evaluating recently expired tax provisions.
