Realtors Volunteer for National Rebuilding Day!

EBCBOR members participated in a community project with Rebuilding Together Bergen County last Saturday. Members volunteered to prep, paint, and refurbish the home of a local Englewood resident. The volunteer team was led by Hilda Williams, Community Service & Outreach Chair, Arlene Cohn, Co-Chair, Lisa Fox & Donna Brown, volunteer coordinators.Thank you to U.S. representative for NJ's 9th Congressional District, Bill Pascrell, Jr. for stopping by to speak to our members, and to all our volunteers for taking time out of their busy schedules to give back to the community! Pending Home Sales Move Up 0.4 Percent in March
 
Pending home sales inched higher for the second consecutive month in March, but unrelenting inventory constraints once again kept overall activity below year ago levels, according to the National Association of RealtorsĀ®. The Pending Home Sales Index,* a forward-looking indicator based on contract signings, inched up 0.4 percent to 107.6 in March from a downwardly revised 107.2 in February.

The Cost of GSE Reform

A new analysis by Zillow determined that proposed reforms to the GSEs, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, may increase monthly payments for borrowers by up to $400 a month. The changes being considered by Congress are intended to reduce taxpayer risk in the event of another market crash.
