The deadline to apply is Friday, July 1st, 2022 at 5pm.
This program provides a system for funding arts projects in all regions of the state by giving artists, nonprofit arts organizations, nonprofit organizations, public and private schools, the opportunity to develop arts projects that meet their local needs.

The Smith & Wisznia Collection

A recent AMoA acquisition donated by architect and developer Marcel Wisznia and curated by artist and publisher Terrance Sanders-Smith. Originally curated in 2010 for display in the Maritime Building on Common Street in New Orleans, the Smith & Wisznia collection features 69 works from 30 Artists who lived, worked or exhibited in Louisiana during this challenging time.
AMoA is excited to share this impactful collection from artists working in the midst of post-Katrina uncertainty, representing the art renaissance experienced during the rebuilding and rebirth of the city of New Orleans.

ATTENTION VISUAL ARTISTS!
Applications for visual artists are open for The Red River Revel Arts Festival (the Revel, as known by locals). The Revel is an annual festival of food, culture, art, and music held Saturday, October 1 – Sunday, October 9 at Festival Plaza in Shreveport, Louisiana.
The festival features visual artists, two performance stages, food booths and a children’s arts education area.
We strive to make the Revel an enjoyable experience for visual artists — they are an important part of our festival. Artists are selected to participate based on a jury process. Application Deadline: 5:00 PM, July 15, 2022 for First Round of Juries.

Ballerina Dance Camp
Get to the Pointe Ballet Academy
June 20th-24th, 2022
Time: 9:00 AM-2:00 PM
This camp is for all little ones ages 3-8yrs, that love dancing, sparkles, tutus, ballerinas, and just having fun! This is a fun summer camp that teaches little girls about ballet and lets them spend a week of feeling like a ballerina. The week will be full of dance classes from learning fun ballet dances from classical ballets like the Nutcracker to improvising to classical ballet music. We will also be making our own tiaras, tutus & wands. We will be playing games and learning the foundations of classical ballet dancing. Open to all.

Creativity Launch Pad Classes
Alexandria Museum of Art
Launch your creativity in this on-going adult (21+) art education series for any and all skill levels seeking a relaxed creative environment in which to learn, receive instruction, experiment with mediums with other adults. Launch Pad classes offer a rotation of mediums to provide a well-rounded art experience, designed for the beginner, intermediate and advanced students. All supplies are included.
Classes meet on the first Tuesday of every month, 5:30-7:00 in the AMoA classroom.
July 5 - Pastels
August 2 - Watercolors
September 6 - Acrylics
October 4 - Mindfulness
November 1 - Pastels
December 6 - Watercolors
$10 for AMoA Members ~ $20 per class for non-members
You must be 21 to attend this class.

Join the T.R.E.E. House Children’s Museum this summer!
T.R.E.E. House Children’s Museum Summer camps are for ages 4-12. $85 for members, $95 for non-members. Camp time is 9:00 AM-12:00 PM. Extended day is available for $160 for non-members, $140 for members. Extended day camp is from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Extended day campers must bring their own lunch. Campers should bring their own water bottle daily.
Campers will receive a camp t-shirt.
Camp registration opened on March 15, 2022 for members.
Registration opens to the public/ non-members on March 30, 2022.
Payment is due in full at the time of registration. Payment is nonrefundable and can be applied to another camp if there is space available.

Welcome Veterans, Active-duty members of the Armed Services, Families & Caregivers. Learn the essentials of effective, compelling writing.
In a safe, collaborative environment, we guide participants to use their shared experiences in learning creativity and mindset habits, writing fundamentals and techniques for giving and receiving feedback. We offer participants a creative way to process their understanding of deployment, assimilation and other experiences of military life and service with more ease.
Each participant will have the opportunity to complete a finished piece to take home or share with friends and family.
Cenla Voices Spring/Summer workshop, taught by Jonathan Belgard and Karen Slatten, is designed to engage all Veterans and Active-duty members of the Armed Services as well as their Families and Caregivers in a supportive, collaborative setting. This event is free to members of the Military Community, including Family and Caregivers.
Thank you to the England Authority for generously allowing us to use the Alexandria International Airport Conference Room for this event.
