The Federal Reserve Elects Not to Raise Rates in November
The Federal Reserve released its statement from its November meeting showing it unanimously elected not to raise interest rates. The Federal Open Market Committee began its November meeting Wednesday and ended with its announcement Thursday that it will not raise the federal funds rate. The committee decided to maintain the target range for the federal funds rate at 2% to 2.25%. So far, the Fed has raised rates three times in 2018 - the first time in March, again in June and finally in September.

EBCBOR Global Business Council Receives Platinum Award from the National Association of Realtors
(Boston, M.A.) - The Eastern Bergen County Board of Realtors® (EBCBOR) Global Business Council achieved Platinum status for the fourth year in a row in the 2018 National Association of Realtors (NAR) Global Business Council Achievement Program.  Jorge Ledesma, CEO, Chandrika 'Basil' Singh, 2018 EBCBOR President, and Ronnie Khurana Global Council vice Chair accepted the award at the Global Achievement Award reception at the NAR Annual Conference & Expo in Boston, MA.

The number of REALTOR® candidates who were elected to state and local offices across the county...and counting! This year, NAR was involved in 13 federal and 252 state and local independent expenditure campaigns and 25 issue campaigns with 53 REALTOR® candidates running for state and local offices. The Bergen Volunteer Center is proud once again to sponsor the All Wrapped Up Holiday Giving Program, which matches individuals and families in need with willing donors from the community. This program has proven an effective way to ensure that the neediest people are remembered at holiday time.

The Holiday Hotline officially opens Thursday, November 1, 2018.
At that time, Bergen Volunteer Center will begin matching donors with people referred by area agencies.
