Dear Parish Family,
When we began the “Raise the Roof With Me Match Challenge”, we set what we thought was an ambitious goal: raise $5,000 from the parish so that we could take full advantage of a generous $5,000 matching gift.
You surprised us!
Together, our parish contributed an extraordinary $15,633, with an additional $68 generously added to round up the total up to $15,700. We were shocked, humbled, and very pleasantly surprised by the response.
And then something even more remarkable happened.
Inspired by the enthusiasm and generosity of our parish, our matching donor decided to increase the match from $5,000 to $10,000. What began as an effort to raise $5,000 became something much bigger than we imagined.
The impact goes beyond the dollars raised. Because of your generosity and the increased match, our endowment will be increased by $25,700 and our loan will be shortened by over three years, saving about $7,665 in interest. That is a lasting benefit to our parish and its future. And it strengthens our overall financial position, which helps with the unexpected.
The campaign taught us an important lesson: when our parish comes together around a common purpose, we can accomplish great things.
We also learned from the experience itself. Along the way, we have developed new guidelines and procedures that will help us be better prepared to respond to future donor-inspired campaigns and matching opportunities. The church box for donations was a big hit…that may be why 90% of the funds came in through cash and checks.
Most importantly, we were reminded that participation takes many forms. Some gave financially. Others offered encouragement, helped spread the word, or supported the effort with their prayers. Every part of that response mattered.
To everyone who contributed, encouraged us, prayed for the campaign, and celebrated its success, thank you.
And to our extraordinarily generous matching donor, thank you not only for the gift, but for providing the inspiration that brought our parish together around this effort.
The “Raise the Roof With Me Match Challenge” showed us something worth remembering:
We can do great things when we work together.
With gratitude,
Thank you to our entire parish family.
Padre Javier

GIVING CAMPAIGN 2026-7 UPHOLDING EACH OTHER IN LOVE
Hello Friends,
Welcome to the 2026-7 Giving Campaign at our Church of the Ascension. This year as we consider how to support our church we can all embrace the theme, Upholding Each Other in Love. In Ephesians 4:1-2 we are called to encourage, support and take responsibility for each other in Ascension and beyond. As the bishop shares, faith is a long-term group project and no one can do it alone. Ascension has shown many times what upholding each other looks like. How very fortunate we all are to participate and to receive.
Packets have been mailed out to all addresses on file in Realm and otherwise in the office. Please take the time to read the letter and pledge your financial support, as you are able. Every donation will be cherished and used wisely.
The packets also contain a pledge card where you can write your donation as you wish, and a return envelope. You may also fill out the card here, or use an electronic form to send to the office. Watch for further announcements on the different ways you may give and information about how our funds are used.
On behalf of the Stewardship Team, thank you for all you do for Ascension. Please ask any of us about the campaign or talk to us about sharing why you give or how you see us Upholding Each Other in Love.
Blessings,
Avin Lalmansingh, Betsy Hasegawa, Clay Kolle, Danielle Allen, Diane Leach, Janet King, Marge Kling, Ruth Anna Skowronski

BE SURE TO VOTE
If eligible, register to vote (or check your voter registration status). These roles have a great impact on your life and the lives of your neighbors. Join us for Bible Study at 7:00 PM in the Library as we explore Exodus 28. Together, we’ll reflect on what this chapter teaches us about worship, serving God, and our responsibility to care for one another. Bring your questions, and your curiosity. Everyone is welcome!

ESTA SEMANA EN ASCENSION
Dia de Todos los Santos y Santas

Querida familia parroquial:
Gracias a toda nuestra familia parroquial.

CAMPAÑA DE DONACIÓN 2026-7 ~ SOSTENIÉNDONOS UNOS A OTROS EN AMOR
Hola, amigos:
Bendiciones,
Avin Lalmansingh, Betsy Hasegawa, Clay Kolle, Danielle Allen, Diane Leach, Janet King, Marge Kling, Ruth Anna Skowronski
