This Week At Bethel - June 30, 2021
Office Hours: Monday-Thursday 9am-12pm

Pastor Dave's Office Hours:
Monday 9am-12pm
Sunday Worship Service 9:30am
Join us on Wednesday evenings for WOW (Worship on Wednesday), a 30 minute, camp-style worship with Holy Communion. We will gather at 6:00pm at the Bethel Picnic Shelter (or Discipleship Hall if inclement weather). Bring a lawn chair and invite friends.

This is perfect for a midweek "recharge", or for those not ready for "indoor" worship yet, or if you will be out of town on the weekend and can't join us then. Hope to see you soon!
WORSHIP UPDATE
As we continue to move forward doing the "next right thing" I wanted to share with you how we are handling masks at Bethel for worship on Sunday mornings.

1) If you are FULLY VACCINATED you do not have to wear a mask.

2) If you are NOT fully vaccinated, you are expected to wear a mask. This applies to youth who are not yet vaccinated.
  * If you have chosen NOT to receive the vaccine, we expect that you will show respect for those who are unable to be vaccinated yet (i.e. children, those with underlying issues) and wear a mask out of Christian love and generosity toward others, especially the most vulnerable.

3) Children over the age of 2 are expected to wear masks at all times, even in the nursery.
Worship Assistants Needed

We are in need of 1 Greeter and 1 Usher for THIS SUNDAY (July 4th). Please sign up using the link below if you are available to help.

LGBTQIA Round Table Tonight

There will be a meeting to have a conversation about the experiences and challenges of LGBTQIA+ people of faith in the Winchester area tonight form 6:30-7:30 in Discipleship Hall.

Come ready to share all you would like. We would love to hear your unique perspectives on what it means to be a Queer person of faith in this community. We are also interested to hear what challenges some of you may have faced, and what ways the faith communities of Winchester can better support and love the LGBTQIA+ community.

Thank you all so much for being willing to share your stories. We are excited to see how God can use this to bless the LGBTQIA+ community here!
Virtual Vision Trip to Guatemala
July 9th - 3-5 pm
Have you been to Guatemala to see Escuela Integrada? Are you and your family interested in traveling this year but are cautious about traveling during a pandemic? Well, you are in luck! Bethel Youth will be hosting a 'Virtual Vision Trip' to Escuela Integrada in Antigua, Guatemala on July 9th from 3 to 5pm.

The in person gathering will take place in Discipleship Hall but if you are out of town and still want to join, a Zoom invitation will be available. During our trip, we will be meeting an Escuela Integrada student and their family, learning about how they are participating in school during the pandemic, and then joining Escuela Integrada in a dance class or a Spanish class. After our trip, we will enjoy some Latin food for those gathering in person.

This is a fundraiser for Escuela Integrada, so a donation of $30 per person is recommended- you can give a check to Bethel with Guatemala Vision Trip in the note section. RSVP to Beth Garner by Monday July 5th to 'reserve' your spot (text to 540.514.7022 or email Beth).

Children & Youth Ministries

It has certainly been a long 15 months of not being able to gather together in-person for Sunday School, fellowship, and other youth activities. We have missed you!

We are looking forward to re-engaging with our youth and are excited to announce that we have planned some activities. This is just the start of our planning and there is more in the works for our individual youth groups.
Thank you so much to Ms. Sara Smith for hosting the Bethel Youth and their families for the beginning of summer pool party on Sunday. Everyone had a blast!

We will have another family pool gathering to mark the end of the summer. This gathering will be for ALL of our Bethel youth and their families. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Sunday, August 15th 2-4PM at The Carlsons’

Although an RSVP is not essential it will help with planning so that we can be sure to have enough snacks and drinks. You may RSVP to dustie.taylor@gmail.com or 540-336-3428. So bring your swimsuits and sunscreen and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Pastor Dave offers weekly devotions called "Church Where You Are" for individuals and families. If you are unable to be at worship on Sunday, or if you are simply looking for a weekly family devotional, "Church Where You Are" is located on our Bethel website each week.

If you are unable to join us for worship in person, please join us for virtual worship on Facebook, YouTube and our website.
