Our mission: to be a sign of Christ’s love for the world.
GATHER!
Here are the ways we worship together.

How wonderful to worship together in our sanctuary!
Let us be mindful to the needs of those around us.

Out of love & safety for our youngest & most vulnerable, and due to the rise in Covid-19 cases,
ALL worshipers are to wear masks while in the sanctuary.

As Matthew 7:12 says, "Treat others as you would want to be treated."
Thank you for living in Christian love with one another!

Worship Schedule
10am in the Sanctuary or on Facebook Live.

This week’s scripture lesson is:
Isaiah 60:1-6
Matthew 2: 1-12

Announcements!
Take a moment to read through the important messages about the life of DUMC

Church Office Hours
The church office will be closed on Monday, January 3rd in observance of the New Year.
Announcement from the Staff Parish Relations Committee
It is with sadness that the SPRC (Staff Parish Relations Committee) announces the resignation of Dr. Roxanne Holt Watson as our organist. Roxanne resigned on December 16th and we honored her request that we keep it confidential until after her last day with us, which was December 26th. We were blessed to have Roxanne sharing her beautiful gift of music with Dilworth for 6 ½ years. Roxanne asked that we express her thanks to Dilworth for the relationships cultivated with choir members and other congregation members alike over these years. Roxanne will be sorely missed and we wish her well in her future endeavors.
Announcement from the Ministries Council
As we continue to cope with the effects of this pandemic, your Ministries Council has continued to consider what Sunday worship should look like. For the foreseeable future, we have come to the consensus that we will continue with the 10 a.m. service. While the exact time to switch back is unclear, this is the plan for 2022.

The Pastors and Staff say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for the generous Christmas love offering. We are humbled by your generosity and by your ongoing encouragement and affirmation. We love serving with our Dilworth family and look forward to journeying through 2022 with all of you. May the new year be filled with God's grace and blessings.

Call Me By My Name
Join Dilworth UMC and our guests from Room In the Inn on Saturday January, 29 at 7pm for a screening of the film “Call Me By My Name” a documentary about living without a home. Following the film, we will have a discussion with the filmmakers and some of the individuals whose lives are documented and have experienced homelessness in the city of Charlotte. Please reach out to Pastor Cade (cade.barefoot@dilworthchurch.org) with questions about this opportunity.
Armenia Mission Trip
Dilworth UMC has been invited to join a team from Myers Park UMC traveling to Armenia on a mission trip this July. Tentative dates are July 9-21. This mission opportunity will be an opportunity to expand our partnership with Project Agape and visit some of Christianity’s most ancient sites. Don’t let cost be a deterring factor, scholarships are available. Remaining spots are extremely limited, please reach out to Pastor Cade (cade.barefoot@dilworthchurch.org) to express interest and ask questions about this trip.
GIVE!
Love your neighbor through gifts of time, talents, and financial gifts.
GIVING TO HELP TORNADO VICTIMS through our church is one of the best ways to ensure that 100% of the money actually goes to relief efforts on the ground. Because our apportionment dollars in regular general church giving goes to help pay salaries and expenses for UMCOR staff (United Methodist Committee on Relief), special offerings such as this one are 100% given to help local relief. UMCOR is already in place and will be in KY and TN as long as necessary to help the communities devastated by the tornadoes. If you write a check to the church for this, please make a note on it "Tornado relief". Likewise, if you donate online for it through the church site, under OTHER please note "Tornado Relief". May we be Christ's love for those in need.
Refugee support
Calling all realtors, landlords, and property managers. Dilworth UMC, along with other houses of faith across Charlotte, is working to settle recent refugees, particularly from Afghanistan and Haiti, into more permanent housing. Any congregation members with connections to individuals or businesses that would be willing to work with refugee families who might not have background checks, social security, employment, etc. are invited to reach out to Pastor Cade (cade.barefoot@dilworthchurch.org) to offer assistance in finding housing for these vulnerable individuals.
Remember Your Church with Your Financial Offerings

You can also drop off your contributions at the church and use other means of giving. Thank you for sustaining the ministries of Dilworth Church through your gifts.
