Dear Fellow Servants of Jesus Christ,
What a blessing to gather and worship as one this past Sunday at our Kirkin' O' the Tartan service! All those leading us in worship did a fabulous job! We especially want to thank our choirs, ensembles and musicians who shared their talents in such a wonderful way. We also want to thank Boy Scout Troop 307 and the Palmetto Pipes and Drums, as well all those who helped with the church potluck that followed. What a great day!
Guys, please remember that our Wild Game Night is coming up on Thursday, November 7 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. It will be at the Cattail Shelter at Saluda Shoals Park. One of the great things about this event is that it is intergenerational. Young and old gather around a tasty meal, fellowship and enjoy an inspirational speaker. Our speaker this year is Adrian Despres, the former Team Chaplain of the University of South Carolina Football Team. Come join us for an evening of food and fellowship for men of all ages! Cost is $10 at the door. If you have any questions, please contact Gable Dulin at 803-318-9544.
In Christ's love,
Pastor Jim
Prayer Focus for October: The lost and unchurched.
Prayer Focus for November: Stewardship and finances.

Saxe Gotha Sudan Ministry requests your prayers for the people in the areas of our ministry in Boma State, South Sudan.  The area is flooded and isolated.  People are crowded into a few spots which remain above water with no way out.  Earlier reports from our partners note that they are in desperate need of transportation to higher ground, food, drinking water, dry clothing and shelter.  We now have lost communication with our friends on the ground there.  We have notified the United States Agency for Development (USAID), the United States State Department, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PCUSA) and the Presbyterian Relief and Development Agency (PCoSS).  Presbyterian Disaster Assistance now is on the ground in Juba (capital of South Sudan) assessing their options.  Doctors without Borders, which has a clinic in Pibor, has declared Pibor one of the two hardest hit areas in South Sudan by the current widespread flooding in eastern South Sudan.  Please pray that they will receive urgently needed rescue and aid.

The Flowers that will grace our sanctuary this Sunday are given to the Glory of God and in honor of Nidsa and Dwight Stokes' 30th Wedding Anniversary.

Daylight Saving Time:  Please remember Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend, so please fall back Sunday morning.

Babysitter List: If you have a need for a Babysitter, one that is Red Cross certified, please email Renee' Starnes in the church's office at Rstarnes@saxegotha.org for the names of babysitters that are part of the SGPC family.

Christmas Cantata
Saturday, December 14 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, December 15 at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary, "A Baby Changes Everything." Brimming with well-crafted dialogue, dynamic characters, thrilling songs and a timeless message, this dramatic musical tells the story of three individuals in the tiny village of Bethlehem. Initially turning away from the promised Messiah, the trio almost sleeps through the first Christmas night -- until they are awakened in time to experience the life-changing miracle in a manger.
