Dear Fellow Servants of Jesus Christ,

VBS starts in less than two weeks! This year our VBS takes you on a wild safari themed adventure beginning Monday, June 24! Elephants and egrets, polar bears and penguins, cockatoos and crocodiles will be a part of this adventure. As our students look for exotic animals, they will also find snapshots of real-life encounters with Jesus in Scripture.

Here are the encounters with Jesus that our students will explore through the week:

Day 1: Encounter in the Temple - Luke 2:41-52
Jesus as a boy in the temple
Day 2: Encounter at the River - Matthew 3:1-17
The Baptism of Jesus
Day 3: Encounter on the Water Matthew 14:22-33
Jesus and Peter walk on the water
Day 4: Encounter at the Tomb - John  20:1-18
Mary Magdalene at the empty tomb
Day 5: Encounter on the Road Luke 24:13-35
The Emmaus Disciples

The Theme Verse for the week is " But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." (John 20:31. CSB)
"Zoom in! Focus on Jesus!" is the week's motto.

VBS is one of the best ways that we reach out to our community, so please be sure to invite your family, neighbors and friends to join you for a terrific week! No matter how old you are, there is a place for you at VBS! So please volunteer to be a part of this great adventure! Let's use this wonderful week to grow closer to our Lord and each other.

Blessings!
Pastor Jim
