Dear Fellow Servants of Jesus Christ,

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Galatians 6:12

Tomorrow will mark the 75th anniversary of D-Day which occurred on June 6, 1944. On that day, Allied forces invaded the beaches of Normandy. That day guaranteed the eventual destruction of the Axis powers in Europe. Even though the war would drag on for eleven more months, with major battles yet to fight, the outcome of the war was determined at Normandy. On May 8, 1945, VE Day, the Allies celebrated their final victory in Europe, and what was set in motion at Normandy was fully realized.

Christians have looked at these events of World War II as an analogy of our situation between Christ's first and second comings. On that first Christmas, God invaded human history and the powers of darkness were defeated. God's victory over Satan and his forces is guaranteed. You might say, that we are now on to Berlin. The fighting is tough, and  the enemy still strong. The good news is that victory is assured and will be fully realized when Jesus comes again.

As we endure the trials and tribulations of this life, let us remember that we are lodged in spiritual battle. The fighting can be very painful and at times we may be discouraged, but remember there is victory in Christ!

Blessings!
Pastor Jim
