Dear Friends,
Like yours, my heart has hurt this week watching the news of the El Paso and Dayton massacres. And like yours, my heart has been touched by the stories of the heroes in those situations who did so much, some even sacrificing their own lives, to help others. Like you, I often wonder, "What can I do, in my little circle of influence, help other people and prevent more troubling events?"
On Sunday, August 25, we will start a new sermon series called "Fruitfulness on the Frontline." In addition to the sermon series, we will also have small groups for adults, youth and children. We will learn together that God can and does work in and through us in our daily lives, whether we're young or old, working or retired, going or slowing - God can use each of us to make a difference in the world around us. "Fruitfulness on the Frontline" will open our eyes to see all kinds of possibilities to make a difference for Christ among the people we naturally meet every day.
To learn more about "Fruitfulness on the Frontline" opportunities for children and youth on Wednesday nights beginning August 28, please contact Lori Lowman ( llowman@saxegotha.org ) or Justin Hall ( jhall@saxegotha.org ). For adults, we are looking for folks to host a small group in their homes for 8 weeks. If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact me at hhham@saxegotha.org . We will also offer one small group on Wednesday nights, also beginning on August 28.  Our weekly Wednesday night suppers begin on August 28, along with other wonderful classes, an overview of the New Testament, a dive into Psalm 23 and a study of Christian spirituality over the centuries. Stay tuned for more details!
Grace and peace,
Helen Harrison Ham
