This Week at St. Margaret's
Weekly News from St. Margaret of Scotland Parish
| | Last weekend, we invited you to reflect and pray about the blessings God has entrusted to you. This weekend, as we embrace the call to Take. Bless. Break. Share., we invite you to prayerfully make your commitment to the Annual Catholic Appeal. As you consider your gift, ask the Holy Spirit to guide your response and how you are called to share God’s blessings with others throughout our diocesan Church. | | Save the Date - Parish Picnic - October 4th |
October 4th - Parish Picnic!
It’s that time of year again, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate with all of you! Our annual gathering is a wonderful opportunity to come together, enjoy great food, share laughs, and make lasting memories with friends.
To make this event a success, we need your help! We’re asking everyone to contribute by signing up for a potluck dish and, if possible, a volunteer slot.
Every dish, helping hand, and contribution plays an important role in creating a fun, welcoming, and memorable event for everyone.
Please take a moment to use the links below and sign up for the areas where you can participate. The sooner you sign up, the easier it will be for us to plan a fantastic celebration with a great variety of food and enough volunteers to keep everything running smoothly.
Thank you in advance for your support and participation. We can’t wait to celebrate with you and make this year’s event our best one yet!

| | Catholic Charities Volunteer Opportunity |
Are you looking for an opportunity to volunteer?
For 147 years, Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph has carried out the Corporal Works of Mercy as the charitable arm of service in our Diocese. Rooted in the love of Jesus, Catholic Charities is our local Church's expression of that love to the poor, the vulnerable, and those in need.
We have a wonderful opportunity to help fill their shelves and offer individuals a "hand up, not a hand out."
Our Diocese is eager to foster a spirit of Christian service among our students and adults by scheduling a Catholic Charities Serve Day. All volunteers will learn about the Corporal Works of Mercy, discover the ministries of Catholic Charities, and complete age-appropriate projects to benefit those in need. Middle school and high school students will also have opportunities for hands-on and continued service.
We are currently planning this Service Day and need your help. Interested in a tour of their facility and information on their many projects, please contact Kathy, who will be guiding us through our Service Day and all available volunteer opportunities.
Please help us be an integral part in helping serve others.
| | Hospitality Volunteers Needed | |
Help serve coffee and juice after the 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM Sunday Masses. This is a simple and rewarding way to welcome fellow parishioners and build community.
Interested? Sign up using the link below.
Thank you for your willingness to serve!

Amendment 3 in 2026 will:
- Restore protections for the unborn
- Require abortion clinics to meet high standards for safety and cleanliness
- Endure parental or judicial consent for minors
- Severely limit public funding for abortion services
- Prevent surgical or medical gender transition on minors
As we approach the November state elections, join us for a parish presentation on Faithful Citizenship and Amendment 3. The passing of Amendment 3 would reinstate health care protections for women and children, ensuring safety standards and abortion limitations.
Do you have questions about Amendment 3 and what it means? Do you want to have meaningful conversations with others about the Amendment? Are you opposed to the Amendment and want to understand Church teaching about abortion? Presentations about Amendment 3 are taking place at multiple parishes. All are welcome.
