This Week at St. Margaret's

Weekly News from St. Margaret of Scotland Parish

From Our Pastor:

Dear Friends,

It is hard to believe July 4th is before us! Just a few things from me:

  • Last weekend, I was blessed to say Mass and preach for the faithful of the Cathedral Basilica of Honolulu. I also helped at St. Joseph’s Parish in Hilo, Hawaii (the “Big Island”). The Catholic faith of the Hawaiians is deep – and I am grateful for the sunshine and the ocean, too. It was all very moving!
  • Thank you for generously welcoming our missionary, Fr. Knab, from Unbound. I hope you were inspired to help in some way!
  • We have the Legacy Blast this Thursday evening, July 2nd – and promise to have good crowds here at St. Margaret’s. Come and enjoy some food, fireworks, and fun!
  • Support our Knights of Columbus by purchasing your fireworks at the tent off of Langsford Rd. (behind Baxter’s Donuts). Remember those little “tank” fireworks?
  • Next weekend, Deacon Eric Davis will be having his first weekend with our parish. Be sure to give a good welcome to Eric and his wife, Amy.

See you this weekend!

Fr. Haake

UNBOUND SAYS “THANK YOU!”

I was pleased to visit St. Margaret of Scotland Church and preach on behalf of Unbound during Mass on the weekend of June 20-21.

Twenty persons among the very poor were sponsored

Thank you!  Those who are sponsored give thanks to God for having been chosen.  They or their families will soon send a note of appreciation to their new sponsor-friends. Gratitude is also extended to parishioners who are continuing commitments made in response to previous appeals.

Still, more sponsors are needed for the many children and elders who are on waiting lists at various projects.

Please go to unbound.org and select one.

Fr. George Knab, O.M.I.

Ladies Auxiliary and SoulCore

The Ladies Auxiliary enjoyed a beautiful night with SoulCore.

Thank you to Shari Nelson for the prayerful experience.

We invite any women in the parish to join the Auxiliary, watch the bulletin for upcoming meetings and plan to join us.

Adoration

We are blessed to offer Eucharistic Adoration at St. Margaret’s every Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM—a sacred time to step away and be with Our Lord.

All are welcome, but we especially need committed adorers.

Please consider signing up for a consistent weekly hour to ensure continuous coverage. Our goal is at least four adorers each hour, so that Jesus is never left alone.

Even one faithful hour each week makes a lasting difference for you and our parish.

Use the link below to reserve your weekly hour.

Holy Spirit Summer Lunch Program

The Summer Lunch Program provides vital nourishment, but our need for support has never been greater. Please answer the call: soaring food costs means every dollar makes a difference, and every volunteer hour ensures a child receives a meal.

We could also use donation supplies. When you are at the grocery store, please pick up some sandwich, snack, or gallon size Ziploc or re-closable bags, boxes of individual chips, boxes of individual cookies, and/or Kool-Aid Jammers. These can be dropped off in the parish office. Thank you for your support!

Baptized on June 12, 2026

Last week Matt was inducted into the National Speech and Debate Association Hall of Fame at the 2026 NSDA National Tournament in Richmond, VA. This is the highest honor a Speech and Debate coach can earn!

Matt, along with his parents, Don and Robin Good, and his two younger brothers, Nathan and Tim, were with us for our very first Mass on July 4, 1999.

We are grateful that Matt continues to share another of his talents with us as one of our regular weekend musicians. Congratulations!!!
