Our friends at the Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio are hosting their First Annual JZK Fest! This is a celebration of live music and festival-inspired food. From April 26 - 28, enjoy live music on stage starting at 6:00 pm with featured artists Saturday and Sunday morning starting at 11:00 am. The Jazz Kitchen is also bringing new menu items highlighting its New Orleans festival cuisine, such as Boudin Balls, Fried Green Tomatoes and Red Beans & Rice. Anaheim City Council Unanimously Approves DisneylandForward Plan

Last week, on April 17, the Anaheim City Council voted 7-0 to approve the DisneylandForward plan. The plan needs a second vote by the Council on May 7. Disney has pledged to invest $1.9 billion over the next ten years into Anaheim. Disney officials have also estimated $100 million in net tax revenue for City government. The expansion plan would take place on existing Disney-owned land but updates what Disney is allowed to build on its land. The City Council's vote gives permission to Disney to build theme park attractions, shopping, dining, and/or entertainment on their land.

Stock Options Are Not “Wages” in California

In startup businesses, it’s not uncommon for employees to accept less cash compensation in exchange for stock options — the option to buy the company stock at a predetermined exercise price. In the future, if the stock’s value exceeds the exercise price, the individual can buy the stock at the lower price for a profitable investment. Often, employees hope the startup company will undergo an initial public offering (IPO), which would allow the employees to sell their stock on the open market at a substantial profit.
