CEOs to Congress: more small businesses will fail without new aid

The following is a letter to Congress from Howard Schultz, chairman emeritus of Starbucks, and signed by the top executives of Disney, Starbucks, Microsoft, and more than 100 other companies and trade groups stressing the urgent need to act. The group calls for a meaningful federal assistance package which includes federally guaranteed loans, flexibility in how money is used, and at least partial loan forgiveness for the hardest-hit companies. It also said, funds must flow to all small businesses in need.

Deadline Extended - Anaheim Small Business Relief Grant
|
|
|
|
|
The City of Anaheim has extended the deadline for its Small Business Relief Grant program, funded through CARES Act monies by Orange County Supervisor Don Wagner. It offers up to $10,000 to Anaheim small businesses that have been adversely affected by coronavirus. Grant funds may be used for payroll, capital, equipment, and operating expenses. These funds are only available to businesses within the Anaheim boundaries of Orange County Supervisorial District 3, which include portions of Anaheim Canyon and all of Anaheim Hills.
The application window will be open until Monday, August 17, at 5 PM

Local Restaurants That Are Reopening Safely

Restaurants can apply for a $1,000 grant for reimbursement of masks, employee training, site reconfiguration, cleaning supplies, and more. Apply for a grant through #SafeDineOC. Qualified restaurants will receive grants after completing a five-minute application.

The Governor’s Task Force on Business and Jobs Recovery recently announced a new campaign, Calling All Californians: #ShopSafeShopLocal, to encourage Californians to support small businesses in their communities.
|
As part of this campaign, the state has partnered with industry-leading companies, including Nextdoor, Google, and UPS, and launched a website that connects California’s small-business owners to critical tools and resources. These resources will help California’s entrepreneurs adapt to new consumer and market demands and create safer shopping experiences by improving small businesses online presence.

Meals on Wheels Orange County continues its work in serving close to 1 million meals to more than 10,000 at-risk seniors each year. Following California’s announcement of the Great Plates Delivered program, Meals on Wheels' Orange County chapter has supported Anaheim seniors staying home and healthy by providing three nutritious meals a day.
