California Implements Nation-Leading Vaccine Verification Measure for Large Events |
|
Today, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) strengthened requirements already in effect for mega-events in the Beyond the Blueprint Framework, announcing that proof of vaccination, or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours before an event starts, will be required for indoor gatherings where 1,000 or more participants or spectators are attending. Currently, verification of being vaccinated or a pre-entry negative test is necessary where there are 5,000 or more persons for an indoor event.
Beyond dropping the requirement from 5,000 to 1,000 individuals, self-attestation to verify a person’s vaccination status will no longer be accepted. The aforementioned changes will remain in place until November 1, 2021.

How well do you know California’s wage and hour rules for paying nonexempt employees when it comes to overtime, makeup time, and reporting time pay? It’s important to understand your legal requirements to avoid violations and wage-theft lawsuits.
Keep in mind that California law requires employers to pay overtime, whether authorized or not. Makeup time pay is not a substitute for overtime but does allow an employee who needs to leave early one day to “make up” that time on another day in the same week. Reporting time pay ensures employees receive a minimum amount of pay when they report for their shift but are not put to work or sent home early.

The Rotary Club of Anaheim Hills understands the importance of honoring those whose deeds and sacrifices not be forgotten. What better way to honor our HEROES than by displaying the Stars & Stripes wherein their heroism emerges as part of the flag's meaning.
Two hundred US flags will stand in solemn formation at Eucalyptus Park in Anaheim Hills to honor those HEROES on two occasions in 2021. Once to honor those who lost their lives on the 20th anniversary of the attack of September 11, and the other on Veterans Day in November, honoring those who served our country. The flags will fly for 3-4 days so visitors can walk through the field to read and appreciate the posted dedications attached to each flag.
