   Retirement of CEO Anne Hertz-Mallari

The Board of Directors of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Anaheim-Cypress has announced the retirement of CEO Anne Hertz-Mallari, effective January 2024. Mallari has served in the position of CEO for the past 17 years. Under her leadership, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Anaheim-Cypress has grown from one location serving 65 children a day to 16 Clubhouses and 2 Teen Centers located within the Anaheim, Cypress, La Palma, and Stanton communities.

Governor Proposes Belt-Tightening Budget Approach with No General Tax Hikes

The state budget proposed by Governor Gavin Newsom would maintain the trajectory of state spending without major disruptions to state programs or new general tax increases. The Governor pegged the budget challenge (often called a “deficit”) at $37.8 billion projected spending in excess of projected revenues. The Governor proposes solving for this gap by reducing earlier spending increases, delaying promised increases, tapping rainy day reserves, and some targeted tax increases.
