Gov. Newsom's $116.5M ‘Vax for the Win’ Program
On May 27, Gov. Newsom launched "Vax for the Win," an incentive program that encourages Californians to get vaccinated before the state reopens on June 15. Of the population aged 12+ already partially vaccinated, 30 winners will be selected for $50,000 prizes on June 4 and 15, and 10 winners will get $1.5 million awards on June 15 after completing their vaccination. To help entice those without shots yet, the next two million Californians to get vaccinated will be eligible for $50 prepaid gift cards.

The Anaheim/OC Job Fair provides an opportunity for employers and jobseekers to virtually meet and explore career opportunities during this challenging economic time. Participation is free and open to all job seekers and employers. Job seekers will have the option to interact with recruiters online through chat and video, and apply instantly to open positions from the convenience of their smartphone, tablet or computer.

Anaheim's Flag Day Celebration -The Tradition Continues
Anaheim Beautiful announces the 26th consecutive running of Anaheim's Flag Day Celebration, a long-standing tradition that will be held on Sunday, June 13th. For 2021, the Flag Day Committee has added a special tribute acknowledging and honoring our veterans and all military personnel.
Participation requires pre-registration. A short ceremony will kick off the procession from Pearson Park.

with the Anaheim Hills Firecracker 5K/10K Run
The Anaheim Hills Community Council presents the 32nd annual Fourth of July Celebration with this year’s theme, Saluting Our Active Military & Veterans.” The all-day event kicks off at 7:00 AM with the Firecracker 5K/10K Run/Walk. Register today and stay tuned for more details.

The 2021 State of the City featuring Mayor Harry Sidhu, presented by the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce and City of Anaheim, will be held on July 14th at 11 AM.

After pausing in 2020, this great event is back as part of Anaheim's larger reopening and economic recovery. Together, we will mark our gains overcoming coronavirus and celebrate the bright days ahead for our city.

The State is on Track to Fully Reopen by June 15
California officials confirmed that on June 15 the state will fully reopen if vaccinations remain highly available and hospitalizations remain low. The “beyond the blueprint" plan will have no capacity limitations except for mega events.

Supervisor Doug Chaffee’s 4th District Arts Grant Relief Program
On May 28, applications opened for Supervisor Doug Chaffee’s 4th District Arts Grant Relief Program. 

This Art Grant Relief Program will support arts-related small businesses and nonprofit organizations impacted by COVID-19 and situated within the 4th Supervisorial District in one of the two following categories:

  • Decline in Revenue: Economic impact due to COVID-19 caused a 25% decline in revenues for the most recent quarter, when compared to a reference quarter that occurred prior to COVID-19.
  • COVID-19 Prevention: Grant assistance due to a need to implement COVID-19 prevention or mitigation tactics to adopt safer opening procedures.

Grant awards – $5,000 flat rate, single payment – will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. In total, $1M in American Rescue Act funding will be distributed in the 4th District.
GO-BIZ Updates CA
Opportunity Zone Site
Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) released a comprehensive update to the California Opportunity Zone website. New features include funding opportunities, best practices and tools to support economic and business development in economically-distressed communities.
Lost CDC Vaccination Card? Request a Replacement
Individuals who received their vaccine at a County POD site and cannot locate their CDC card can call the OC COVID-19 Hotline at 714-834- 2000 or email OC Health Care Agency’s Immunization Assistance Program to request a replacement.
State Sets Up Employer Vaccination Toolkit
California has created an Employer Vaccination Toolkit, a website designed to help employers make COVID-19 vaccinations more convenient for their employees.

The website includes links to help employers find local provider partners for scheduling an offsite vaccination event, information on requesting a worksite mobile clinic and vaccine education materials to share with employees.

SBA’S $100M Community Navigator Pilot Program
U.S. Small Business Administration’s Community Navigator Pilot Program is a new initiative geared to help the nation’s smallest businesses, with a priority focus on those owned by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, women and veterans. SBA will accept applications through July 12, 2021, and anticipates making award decisions by August 2021.
