Congratulations to the Business Champion of the Year - KLM Strategies!
KLM Strategies is a woman-owned consulting and professional services firm led by President and CEO Kris Murray. The firm focuses on advancing sustainable projects and programs that develop resilient communities with unique expertise in transportation, water, energy, utility program development and land use planning.
Public service has been at the core of Kris Murray’s professional and personal life. She served as a member of the Anaheim City Council for eight years from 2010 to 2018. During her time on Council, Murray was a dedicated advocate for business, supporting the Convention Center Expansion, the Anaheim Packing House, a car dealer incentive program, countless new commercial, resort and housing projects and the hotel incentive policy that has brought a renaissance to the Resort District and record revenues to the City. She was also a champion for those in Anaheim with great need, developing programs like the Quality Rental Housing Program.
She continued this advocacy while serving in leadership roles with the Transportation Corridors Agencies, the Southern California Association of Governments, the State Water Quality Control Board, and others. She was recently appointed the chair of the Santa Ana Regional Water Quality Control Board. She also serves on the boards of Anaheim Global Medical Center, Support Our Anaheim Resort, Anaheim First and Anaheim Taxpayers Association.
KLM Strategies works with many non-profit groups mentoring young women and encouraging their pursuit of STEM disciplines through such programs as the Women in Engineering’s partnerships with Anaheim high schools.
Kris tapped into this deep well of leadership experience to guide Anaheim-based clients and organizations such as the Anaheim Transportation Network through the bracing challenges and shifting dynamics of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Throughout the pandemic, Kris worked with her clients to give back to those most in need, from participating in weekly food drives and collecting and delivering food, essential supplies, and distributing vital PPE to neighborhoods. On behalf of her client Visit Anaheim, she served as part of the city’s economic recovery team supporting large and small businesses most impacted by state-mandated stay at home orders.

Congratulations to the Community Serving Non-Profit of the Year Vineyard Anaheim Church!
Vineyard Anaheim Church began as a small group of believers gathering in a home. 40 years later, with the ministry of compassion as a core tent, Vineyard Anaheim works toward a day when no family goes hungry.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Vineyard was Anaheim’s largest food distribution network, serving 50,000 people. The church expanded its pantries from two to 11, serving five different Orange County cities and serving nearly 10 million meals. Vineyard secured a mobile shower trailer that enabled 500 people experiencing homelessness during the pandemic to have the simple dignity of taking a shower.
Vineyard made more than 17,000 door-to-door food deliveries to its home-bound elderly neighbors and assisted schools and other churches to start their own food pantries. The church is innovating how charitable food distribution happens, nearing completion of a new grocery store that serves the highest quality foods as well as partnering with other organizations to provide onsite resources such as job placement, health and wellness service, and immigration resources.
