A MESSAGE FROM CHAMBER PRESIDENT/CEO JERRY JORDAN
Dear Chamber Members,
I am excited to be the new President/CEO of the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce. Dating back to 1895, the Chamber has a vital role in Anaheim's economic life as a conduit and advocate for our business community. For 14 years, I was an executive at Rosendin Electric, the largest privately-held electrical company in the nation, with more than 9,000 employees; and Executive Vice President at Sasco, a California commercial electrical contractor, where I worked for 19 years. I have been on the Chamber Board since May 2021, and I have found that the Anaheim Chamber is an important resource, connector, and advocate for our members, the overall business community, Anaheim's visitors, and local government. I look forward to leading the Chamber in my expanded role and to working with all of you.
Sincerely,
Jerry Jordan
President/CEO

Anaheim Workforce Connection Job Fair
In this episode of The Workplace podcast, CalChamber Associate General Counsel Matthew Roberts is joined by CalChamber Senior Policy Advocate Ashley Hoffman and Chris Micheli, partner at Snodgrass & Micheli, LLC, to review some of the key employment law-related bills being discussed this legislative session.
A bill that seeks to provide striking workers with unemployment insurance (UI) benefits has been tagged a job killer by the California Chamber of Commerce. SB 1116 (Portantino; D-Burbank) will allow striking workers to claim UI benefits when they choose to strike. Because the UI Fund is paid for entirely by employers, SB 1116 will effectively add more debt onto California employers. Moreover, SB 1116 will effectively force employers to subsidize strikes at completely unrelated businesses because the UI Fund’s debt adds taxes for all employers, regardless of whether they’ve had a strike.
