A Touch of Disney Food Event
A Touch of Disney will open on March 18 at Disney California Adventure and run through April 5 with additional dates to be added on a rolling basis. Ticket sales begin Thursday, March 4. The limited-time, advance reservation event will feature food and beverage favorites from Disneyland and Disney California Adventure along with “unique, carefully crafted” entertainment.
Anaheim to Give $20 Million
in Rental Assistance
The city of Anaheim is providing $20 million in assistance to families and landlords struggling with rent debt due to the pandemic. Renters and landlords impacted by COVID-19 can get help with unpaid rent from the past year. Applications opened on March 1 and will be due by March 31.
New eBay Program Offering Free
eCommerce Training for Small Businesses
The California Office of the Small Business Advocate has partnered with eBay to announce the launch of the Up & Running California program. Through the program, up to 300 California, small businesses will be selected to participate in this six-week interactive eCommerce training program designed to help them get and grow online. Applications are open until 11:59 p.m. PT on Thursday, March 11, 2021.

CalChamber Calls for
Legislative Action to Promote Economic Recovery
The California Chamber of Commerce is leading a coalition of more than 75 allied groups in urging Governor Gavin Newsom and California Legislators to pass measures to promote economic recovery in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Legislators Urge End to Business Tax Increase
A bi-partisan group of 25 California Legislators led by Assemblymember Evan Low (D-Campbell) is urging Assembly Budget leadership to immediately end a tax increase enacted on California employers last year and restore the net operating loss (NOL) deduction and business incentive tax credits as part of this year’s budget.

Tell Your State Legislators to Oppose AB 84/SB 95
The State Legislature is considering a new COVID-19 paid sick leave mandate under budget bills AB 84/SB 95. The mandate would require businesses of all sizes to provide an additional 80 hours of paid leave to employees for eight different COVID-related reasons. There are no tax credits or other financial relief to offset the cost of the leave. Click the link below to let your legislators know you oppose these bills.

Vaccines: Super POD at Anaheim Convention Center
Mayor Harry Sidhu and Councilmember Avelino Valencia provide an update on the Super POD at Anaheim Convention Center, which has provided more than 20,000 vaccines since opening last week.
Reconfiguration of the Disneyland Super POD
The Disneyland Super POD will close on Thursday, March 4 to be reconfigured for ADA lanes/in-car vaccinations starting on Monday, March 8. Site will be able to serve eligible individuals w/disabilities w/appointments with appropriate vehicle placards or license plates.
The State has opened eligibility to Phase 1B and requires local health departments to dedicate a specific allocation to this group. On March 1, Covid 19 Vaccinations were made available to TK-12 school employees in Orange County at specialized Points of Dispensing – Operated by the Orange County Department of Education in partnership with local school districts.

Orange County is Close to Reaching the Red Tier
After weeks of falling positive case rates and increased ICU capacity, Orange County is on the cusp of moving into the less restrictive red tier. All three of a county's metrics must fall within a certain range to advance. We anticipate moving into the red tier on March 9th.

Allowable activities in the Red Tier include:

  • Hair salons: open indoors with modifications
  • Retail: open indoors at 50% capacity
  • Malls: open indoors at 50% capacity and limited food courts
  • Nail salons: open indoors with modifications
  • Electrolysis: open indoors with modifications
  • Personal care services (body waxing, etc.): open indoor with modifications
  • Tattooing and piercing: open indoors with modifications
  • Museums, zoos, and aquariums: open indoors at 25% capacity
  • Places of worship: open indoors at 25% capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer
  • Movie theaters: open indoors at 25% capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer
  • Hotels: open with modifications, plus fitness centers can open at 10% capacity
  • Gyms: open indoors at 10% capacity
  • Restaurants: open indoors at 25% capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer
  • Wineries: outdoor only
  • Bars and breweries: closed
  • Family entertainment centers: outdoor only, like mini-golf, batting cages, and go-kart racing
  • Cardrooms: outdoor only
  • Non-essential offices: remote work only
  • Professional sports: no live audiences
  • Schools: can reopen for in-person instruction after five days out of the purple tier
  • Theme parks: must stay closed

The Toll Roads Cattle Grazing Begins at
Live Oak Plaza Conservation Area
The Transportation Corridor Agencies) last week kicked off a pilot program in which cattle graze the land at the Agencies’ Live Oak Plaza Conservation Area in Trabuco Canyon. The first grazing period will continue for approximately two to three weeks. The program, approved by the Foothill/Eastern Transportation Corridor Agency Board of Directors last year, helps to mitigate wildfire risk and promote native vegetation in and around Anaheim Hills.
