Primary Election Results in Districts Covering Portions of Anaheim | |
Yesterday was Primary Election Day in California. In several districts covering portions of Anaheim, the election concluded yesterday:
- OC Board of Supervisors, 3rd District (Anaheim Hills): Board of Supervisors Chairman Don Wagner (R) was re-elected in a landslide, defeating Irvine Mayor Farrah Khan (D).
- OC Board of Education, Trustee Area 1 (Central Anaheim and eastern portions of West Anaheim): Board of Education Trustee Jorge Valdez (R) was re-elected in a landslide, defeating Financial Services Educator Beatriz Mendoza (D).
- OC Board of Education, Trustee Area 3 (Anaheim Hills): Board of Education Trustee Ken Williams (R) was re-elected, defeating Educator Nancy Watkins (D).
- OC Board of Education, Trustee Area 4 (portions of West Anaheim): Board of Education President Tim Shaw (R) was re-elected in a landslide, defeating Westminster School Board Trustee David Johnson (D).
- Orange Unified School District (Anaheim Hills): Voters recalled Board President Rick Ledesma (R) and Trustee Madison Miner (R). The remaining five board members will appoint new trustees to replace Ledesma and Miner.
- Superior Court Judge: Deputy District Attorneys Jason Baez (R), Richard Zimmer (D), and Whitney Bokosky (R) won judgeships in landslides, defeating Attorney Dan Jacobson (D), Deputy Public Defender Binh Dang (R), and Attorney Daniel Kern (D), respectively.
In several districts covering portions of Anaheim, candidates will advance to the November 5 general election:
- 40th Congressional District (Anaheim Hills): Congresswoman Young Kim (R) and Retired Fire Captain Joe Kerr (D) advance to the November 5 general election. Tustin Unified School District Trustee Allyson Muñiz Damikolas (D) was eliminated.
- 46th Congressional District (most of Anaheim): Congressman Lou Correa (D) and Professor David Pan (R) advance to the November 5 general election. No other candidate filed.
- 37th State Senate District (Anaheim Hills): Senator Josh Newman (D) and former Assemblyman Steven Choi (R) advance to the November 5 general election. Nine other candidates were eliminated.
- 59th State Assembly District (Anaheim Hills): Assemblyman Phillip Chen (R) and Deputy County Counsel Dave Obrand (D) advance to the November 5 general election. No other candidate filed.
- 67th State Assembly District (West Anaheim): Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva (D) and Retired Entrepreneur Beth Culver (R) advance to the November 5 general election. Pastor Jacob Woo Ho Lee (NPP) was eliminated.
- 68th State Assembly District (Central Anaheim): Assemblyman Avelino Valencia (D) and Retired Businessman Mike Tardif (R) advance to the November 5 general election. No other candidate filed.
Statewide:
- US President: President Joe Biden (D) and former President Donald Trump (R) won the California presidential primary for their respective political parties.
- US Senate: Congressman Adam Schiff (D) and former Major League Baseball Player Steve Garvey (R) advance to the November 5 general election. Twenty-five other candidates were eliminated.
- Proposition 1 remains too close to call.
