DisneylandForward to Generate Quarter-Billion Dollars Annually for Anaheim Economy
Cal State Fullerton's Woods Center for Economic Analysis and Forecasting projects that for every $1 billion invested by Disney in its DisneylandForward plan will generate 2,292 jobs with $253 million in economic output for Anaheim each year and $15 million in annual City tax revenue. The Disneyland Resort has currently used only 46% of the space approved in 1990 for the park and its hotels, retail, and dining spaces, so DisneylandForward will be constructed within less developed portions of the approved 1990 space. There will be public hearings at the end of 2023 with DisneylandForward going to the Planning Commission and then the City Council in 2024.

Governor Proposes Accelerating Infrastructure Projects by Cutting Red Tape
(CalChamber)-Governor Gavin Newsom has proposed streamlining permits and litigation in order to speed up efforts to build transportation, clean energy, water, and other infrastructure projects in California. The Governor signed an executive order on Friday creating an Infrastructure Strike Team and directing state agencies to help speed up permit approvals on infrastructure projects. The Governor's proposal also includes 11 pieces of legislation, which he hopes the Legislature will pass next month as part of the State budget package. Among other things, the proposal would set a nine-month limitation on how long lawsuits under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) could last against water, transportation, clean energy, semiconductor, and microelectronics projects. The proposal also eliminates voluminous paperwork retention requirements to try to avert situations like an email retention lawsuit in San Diego County involving a large residential and commercial development for two years after the project had been approved.
