New California Equity Metric System Makes It Harder For Orange County To Reopen |

Under another set of changing guidelines, an equity metric system, Orange County must show a decrease in COVID-19 cases in disadvantaged neighborhoods before indoor activities can resume. Until testing positivity in impacted communities drops below 5.2%, Orange County will remain in the red tier for “substantial” risk. |

Governor Extends CCPA Exemption, COVID-19 Workplace Notification Bills |

Governor Newsom recently signed two bills of significance to the business community. AB 1281 extends the exemption of employee and job applicant information from the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) until January 1, 2022. This broad bill requires all public and private employers to notify state agencies and all of their employees within 24 hours of employee exposure to COVID-19. |
