Buena Esperanza brings hope for homeless |
|
Last week Anaheim and partner Jamboree Housing celebrated the grand opening of Buena Esperanza, a groundbreaking affordable housing project providing 69 beautiful apartments for formerly homeless residents, veterans and those with mental health struggles.
Buena Esperanza transformed an Econo Lodge motel est Anaheim into much-needed permanent supportive housing for formerly homeless residents, veterans and those with mental health struggles.
The first of its kind in Anaheim and Orange County, Buena Esperanza was made possible thanks to Anaheim's innovative Motel Conversion Program, approved by the City Council in 2019, which paves the way to convert outdated and underutilized motels into affordable housing.
The project was made possible with federal and state housing dollars and a city loan through the Anaheim Housing Authority and the county of Orange, as well as private funding and partnerships, including with the Disneyland Resort and Providence Southern California.

How To Get Your Digital Vaccine Card |
|
|
|
California has launched a digital tool for accessing COVID-19 vaccine records. The tool is an option for Californians who received a COVID-19 vaccination to access their record from the state’s immunization registry system.
The record shows the same information as the paper CDC vaccine card: name, date of birth, date of vaccinations, and vaccine manufacturer. It also includes a QR code which you can screenshot and save on your phone. The app makes these same details readable by a QR scanner.
A digital record is a good option if you’ve misplaced or damaged your vaccine card.
Some venues, like larger locations like concert halls and stadiums, have a right to require proof of vaccination as condition of entry.

With summer in full swing, you may not be thinking of the coming raining season and the potential for higher than normal rainfall that can cause flooding and property damage. However, anytime is a good time to learn if the commercial, industrial, or residential property in Anaheim that you own or rent is located in a flood zone. The City of Anaheim’s Planning and Building Department has information that can help you determine whether or not your property is in a flood zone, also known as a FEMA Special Flood Hazard Area.
