Ontario is in a province-wide shutdown that will last for 28 days before a reevaluation. Stay in Durham, shop local and keep your social interactions to those within your own household this holiday season.

Emergency child care for school-age children of eligible workers
School-age children of eligible workers will have access to free, full-day emergency child care from January 4 to 8, 2021. While licensed child care programs for infants, toddlers, preschool and centre-based kindergarten programs remain open during the province-wide shutdown, care of school-age children whose parents are not eligible workers is prohibited from January 4 to 8, 2021. Curbside Christmas tree collection in January
Durham Region will provide its annual curbside collection of natural Christmas trees in Ajax, Pickering, Brock, Clarington, Scugog, Uxbridge, Oshawa and Whitby after the holidays. Natural Christmas trees will be composted with leaf and yard waste. Learn more.

Waste collection schedule during the holidays
