OCSS Notice of Proposed Rulemaking


This Office of Child Support Services' (OCSS) recent proposed rule would provide ACF with ongoing authority to waive, modify, or suspend performance measure requirements when states are affected by natural disasters and other calamities that have resulted, or are expected to result, in the failure of state child support programs to achieve performance standards for paternity establishment, support order establishment, and current collections. Under Title IV-D of the Social Security Act, failure to achieve required performance levels may lead to penalties assessed as a percentage against the state's TANF grant.


Comment period ends September 11.

Advancing Social and Economic Mobility

White House Hosts Child Care Summit for State Leaders


On Wednesday, White House officials welcomed more than 90 state legislators from 41 states across the country to support state actions to make child care more affordable for working families, increase child care provider supply, and improve job quality for child care workers. First Lady Jill Biden, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, and Minnesota Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan also attended the convening and delivered remarks.

FNS Seeks Comments on Information Collection for SNAP Performance Evaluation Systems


USDA Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) is collecting information about states' Performance Evaluation Systems, which ensure that each state agency and project area is operating SNAP in accordance with the Act, regulations, and the state agency's Plan of Operation.


Comments regarding this information collection received by August 16 will be considered.
