Heads Up: Wholesome Content Ahead! 🥰
Our staff have shared a few heartwarming stories that are sure to give you all the warm and fuzzy feelings. It’s often hard to capture the full impact of this work, but we think Torey, Michael, and Louey have expressed it beautifully!

"I do what I do because I love the people. My clients have become part of my extended family. I’m excited for their wins and mourn their losses. We work together to create an amazing community, and I am so lucky to be part of it".
-Torey Madura, Hikone Site Director

"When I started working for CAN in 2020 as an intern at Bryant Community Center, I connected with a high school freshman who made a lasting impression on me. Fast forward to today—I'm now a site director, and I recently spoke to social work students at Washtenaw Community College.
To my surprise, that same student was in the audience! We connected afterward, and she shared that her time at Bryant inspired her to pursue social work. It’s incredible to see the ripple effect of Bryant's impact".
-Michael Blackwell, Director of Bryant Educational Programs

"I first met Antonio when he was in 6th grade—one of my all-time favorite kids, even though he didn’t care for me much at first. Over time, we built a connection, and I’ll never forget the special moments, like when he shared music with me to play as kids arrived at the center. I can still remember those songs to this day.
This week, I saw his brother, who shared an exciting update about Antonio. It’s amazing to be part of milestones in people’s lives, even years later. That’s the heart of what we do at CAN—building relationships that last."
-Louey Guillen, Deputy Director
