Documentary featuring WesternU leaders set to premiere

WesternU faculty and administrators are featured in "The Healthcare Cure," a documentary examining how to fix a broken health care system. The film is scheduled to premiere at the Sedona International Film Festival June 17, 2021.

Website redesign
Over this past year, Public Affairs & Marketing has been working with representatives from colleges/units to update WesternU’s public-facing website with a new design, intuitive navigation, and updated content. We still have much work to do, and we will be working to push Phase 1 changes live this summer (in July).

Kudos on accomplishments
An interdisciplinary team of WesternU faculty and staff has published a new paper, "Expanded neural canals in the caudal vertebrae of a specimen of Haplocanthosaurus," in the peer-reviewed journal Academia Letters. The authors are Mathew Wedel, PhD, of COMP and CPM; Jessie Atterholt, PhD, of the College of Health Sciences; Alton Dooley, PhD, a paleontologist at the Western Science Center in Hemet; Saad Farooq, a radiology student with John Yasmer, DO; Jeff Macalino, formerly of the WesternU Department of Information Technology and now in private industry; Thierra Nalley, PhD, of COMP; Gary A. Wisser, of the WesternU Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL); and John Yasmer, DO, of COMP, a radiologist at Hemet Global Medical Center. The paper is open access and freely available here.

Lunch and Learn
Join a panel of IT team members for the monthly Employee Lunch & Learn, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 2.
This month’s presentation will be “Maximizing Your WesternU Support Site Experience."
The first 30 minutes includes a different presentation to update you on IT services or systems that affect you. The remaining 30 minutes are an open forum Q&A session, where you may ask any questions you have for the IT team regarding services, software, or hardware.
