2025 WesternU Alumni Reunion provides an evening of connection and celebration

WesternU alumni returned to the Pomona campus Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, for a memorable evening of connection, celebration, and community. The WesternU Alumni Reunion featured college open houses and receptions, simulation lab tours, and exclusive campus store discounts, culminating in a special dinner hosted by the Office of Alumni & Family Engagement and the Alumni Leadership Board.


From 3 to 5 p.m., alumni and guests toured campus facilities, met faculty, and reconnected with classmates. The Reunion Dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. celebrated WesternU pride with recognition of outstanding alumni, opportunity drawings, and heartfelt moments shared among friends and colleagues.

WesternU Doctor of Physical Therapy students present case study posters 

The growth and development of Western University of Health Sciences Doctor of Physical Therapy students in the College of Health Sciences were on display at their Case Study Poster Presentations Oct. 8, 2025, on the WesternU California campus. 

 

The annual Case Study Presentation is a signature event for the Doctor of Physical Therapy Education (DPTE) program, showcasing the talent and growth of our third-year students as they step confidently into their roles as Movement Specialists, said Department of Physical Therapy Education Acting Department Chair and Director of Clinical Education Janet Konecne, PT, DPT, PhD, OCS, CSCS.

WesternU COMP-Northwest hosts annual AHEC summer camp for high school students 

For the third year in a row, Western University of Health Sciences’ College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific-Northwest (COMP-Northwest), which is in the process of transitioning to its new name, the Heatherington College of Osteopathic Medicine, hosted the Oregon Pacific AHEC summer camp for high school students.  


Oregon Pacific AHEC (Area Health Education Center) is part of a national network dedicated to improving the distribution, diversity, quality, and supply of health care workers in rural and medically underserved areas. Through community and educational partnerships, Oregon Pacific AHEC aims to promote quality health care and combat the current health care crisis.

College of Dental Medicine news

CDM Assistant Dean for Biomedical Sciences Curriculum and Associate Professor Dalia Seleem, DDS, PhD, served as Guest Editor for the 2025 Special Collection of the Journal of the California Dental Association (CDA) titled "Advances in Dentistry."


This special issue brings together timely and impactful contributions that reflect the evolving landscape of dental science and practice. Topics include the psychosocial dimensions of temporomandibular disorders, emerging probiotic therapies for oral candidiasis, and the integration of artificial intelligence in clinical decision support.


Dr. Seleem’s editorial highlights the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation in care, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes — themes that resonate deeply with our mission in dental education and research.
