THEOLOGY ON TAP
Our Theology on Tap topic for Wednesday night is Thankfulness and Giving.
Directions to John Gavitt's gazebo in the woods are:
From Bethel Church, turn north on Route 522 toward Gainesboro. Come to the top of a long hill and make a right turn at Hunting Ridge Road (Route 608) (be careful of traffic!!) and proceed about a mile until you see a large new house being built on the left. Go past that house and then you'll see a property line stake on the left (where my property begins). Keep going and there will be some orange flagging on the left hanging on a shrub. Turn left into a hidden dirt driveway there. If you come to the Mennonite church on the right (700 Hunting Ridge Road), you've gone too far. Turn around and drive a very short distance to the property entrance on the right. There's a small "Jesus" sign nailed into a tree on the right, just past the entrance.
There are two gates at the entrance. Both will be open. Enter the gate on the left and park in the open area. Then return to the other gate and walk straight ahead down the path until you come to the gazebo.
We'll have two speakers from the United Way to lead our discussion about giving and thankfulness.
JONES/JOYNER MUSIC FUND
The Jones/Joyner Music Scholarship Fund honors the outstanding ministries of two individuals: Larry Jones and Vernon Joyner. Both led Bethel's music ministry. The Jones/Joyner Music Scholarship Fund enables our music ministry to consistently provide quality music offerings in and outside of our regular worship gatherings.
Through the generosity of the congregation, this fund has brought us many talented musicians who have enhanced our worship music each Sunday.
Our current Jones/Joyner scholars are flutist Charlene Romano and bassist Alex Kimble.
As the holidays approach, your continued donations to this fund will ensure that we can provide special music for the season. Would you consider making a one-time or continued donation to support our music ministry?
Checks can be made payable to Bethel with "Jones/Joyner Fund" in the memo. Thank you for your continued support of music at Bethel
