Tractate Megillah deals with the laws of Purim and touches on communal practices such as Torah Reading and prayer. Additional matters under discussion include holiness of public space, the appearance of priests, and some additional miscellaneous laws. Together we will explore the themes of the mishnah, get a taste of some of the commentaries, and gain comfort with Rabbinic texts. No experience is necessary, discussion and questions are encouraged, all sources will be provided in English and in translation. Each chapter unit can stand on its own but classes will reference each other. Looking forward to learning with you!
