Palm Sunday

This Sunday, Christians throughout the world
begin the great and holy week that culminates
in the central celebration of our faith:
the Lord’s passage from death to new life celebrated in the Three Days.

Sunday's reading of Christ’s passion
sets forth the central act of God’s love for humankind.
In the reception of the Lord’s body and blood,
the church receives this life-giving love.

In prayer, hymns and readings,
we hear the great paradox of our faith:

Christ is proclaimed the mighty one who reigns from the tree of life.

Practicing Compassion
with all your Heart, Soul, Strength and Mind

Lent is a time for introspection and self reflection,
a time to reflect on the core of what it means to live a Christian life in the midst of great change and uncertainty. When facing change and uncertainty, practicing compassion becomes more central to that life so that we are freer to both receive and share the healing love of God.

We invite you to pick up a copy of this wonderful Lenten daily resource as together we journey through the season of Lent toward more health and wholeness.
Copies are available in the Narthex (back of the church).
Godly Play
Children’s Ministry every Sunday, 9:50a

Our children gather in the Loft upstairs from the narthex (church lobby) for a time of exploration and wonder called “Godly Play.” Parents and guardians are invited to sign in upstairs and children rejoin their families during the Offertory.

During Lent, we’ve been working on a collaborative ongoing art project for the nave led by Cathy Sterling and Tinnin Leskera. If you would like to take home a weaving kit (kits are in the narthex) and bring back your creation to contribute to the project, you are most welcome!

Coming Up:
This Week, Palm Sunday, April 2: Children’s Interactive Stations of the Cross
After we process waving palms with the congregation, children are invited to head outside with Sage and me. We will return to the service for Communion.

Nursery Spotlight: Mary Stice
Mary Stice is new to our nursery and thrilled to be joining us! She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from CSU and loves to use her knowledge to connect with people. She's particularly interested in child development and has taken many classes and workshops in this area. In addition to working with young children, Mary has experience working with teenagers at a youth homeless shelter. She is currently illustrating a children's book, and sells her artwork through her business, Scintillating Arts. She also runs her own pet care business, Mama Bear Pet Care LLC, and manages her husband's tile installation business, Stice Construction LLC. Despite her busy schedule, Mary loves spending time outdoors with her daughter, Isabella, exploring nature. Welcome, Mary!
