Three Women and the Angel at the Tomb
 Fresco, Ferrer Bassa, 1346
The earliest Christian observance of Easter consisted of a vigil of watching and waiting,
fasting and prayer, that lasted through the hours of darkness.
The stories of salvation in the Hebrew Scriptures were heard and reflected upon,
until the resurrection was proclaimed in the Eucharist at first light.

Our Easter Vigil begins Saturday night with the lighting of a new fire from which the Easter Candle is then lit.
This new fire, together with the Easter Candle, illuminates the church.
This is an illustration of the way that Christians understand the Hebrew Scriptures
and interpret life itself in the light of the resurrection of Jesus.
The history of our salvation in the Scriptures is heard in the light of the Easter mystery.

Godly Play
Children’s Ministry every Sunday, 9:50a

Our children gather in the Loft upstairs from the narthex (church lobby) for a time of exploration and wonder called “Godly Play.” Parents and guardians are invited to sign in upstairs and children rejoin their families during the Offertory.

During Lent, we’ve been working on a collaborative ongoing art project for the nave led by Cathy Sterling and Tinnin Leskera. If you would like to take home a weaving kit (kits are in the narthex) and bring back your creation to contribute to the project, you are most welcome. Our collaboration will continue throughout the Easter season!

Sage Donnelly has been working in the Godly Play classroom with our children ages 4-12 since last November. She also helps out in the nursery. Originally from New Mexico, Sage is a full-time sophomore at Colorado College and recently declared her undergraduate major in History. She enjoys reading, knitting, and hiking in her free time. Sage is a joy to work with and we are blessed to have her help with the children's program!
