Jesus is with us

It is one of the cornerstones of the Christian faith.

Jesus is with us.

We have a deep commitment to this truth.
We see the very face of God in one another.

In stark counterpoint to what the world keeps trying to tell us,
we Christians don't find ourselves as separate selves.
We Christians find our selves as we come together
and become God’s people together.

We find ourselves when we find each other
        reflecting God our creator
when we listen for God’s leading together as God’s holy church.

It is a beautiful, strong, trustworthy and deeply counter-cultural witness
against the power of the evil, violence and death that surrounds us.

Jesus is present among us
as we gather to pray together several times each week in this place
as we eat together and live together.
As we laugh and weep and sing and pray
we remind one another
that we need each other
that we are committed to one another
that even in the face of devastating news from the doctor
or the terrible headlines of the day
we will continue the feasting and the sharing
we will continue to read the holy word of God
and listen for what the spirit is saying to us, the church.

We will do that together.
Jesus is with us.

See you Sunday!

Community Circle
Sundays, 8:45a in Casey Hall

Join us every Sunday for a time of fellowship and exploration.
Each week a different member of our community will bring a different topic and then make space for conversation and sharing as together we encourage one another in the life of faith.

During the Season of Lent, we will continue reading together a wonderful book entitled,
“The Whole Language” by Gregory Boyle. It is available from online booksellers in hardcopy and electronic formats. Join us as we journey together through this provocative and challenging book. We will use this book as catalyst for our community-wide listening for where God will lead us in the coming days.
We warmly invite you to journey with us for what promises to be a very rich opportunity for spiritual growth and new relationships. Childcare will be available. All are very welcome.
Practicing Compassion
with all your Heart, Soul, Strength and Mind

Lent is a time for introspection and self reflection,
a time to reflect on the core of what it means to live a Christian life in the midst of great change and uncertainty. When facing change and uncertainty, practicing compassion becomes more central to that life so that we are freer to both receive and share the healing love of God.

We invite you to pick up a copy of this wonderful Lenten daily resource as together we journey through the season of Lent toward more health and wholeness.
Copies are available in the Narthex (back of the church).
Godly Play
Children’s Ministry every Sunday, 9:50a

Our children gather in the Loft upstairs from the narthex (church lobby) for a time of exploration and wonder called “Godly Play.” Parents and guardians are invited to sign in upstairs and children rejoin their families during the Offertory.

During Lent, we’re working on a collaborative ongoing art project for the nave led by Cathy Sterling and Tinnin Leskera. Cathy will join Godly Play again this Sunday to complete the CD weaving with our children. Tinnin will join us March 26 to introduce the final part of the project. Families are welcome to stay and participate with the children! Many thanks to Pikes Peak Weavers Guild for donating the yarn.

If your children haven’t joined us yet, they are most welcome, and we look forward to meeting and getting to know them.
