This Week at Chapel of Our Saviour
April 7, 2019 - The Fifth Sunday in Lent
Join us THIS Sunday, April 7 as we welcome Bishop-elect Kym Lucas to Chapel of Our Saviour. Reverend Kym will be our preacher and presider at the 8:30 am and 10:45 am services and will lead a discussion between the two services.

A potluck reception will follow the 10:45 am service in the Parish House. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the beginning of our ministry with our new Bishop. We hope you can be with us as we anticipate all that is to come!

Bishop-elect Lucas will be consecrated the 11 th  Bishop of Colorado on May 18 at Saint John’s Cathedral in Denver.

40 Days of Sharing Blessings

Your outreach committee invites you to make a daily discipline of sharing blessings during these 40 days of Lent.

Set aside one non-perishable food item for donation to B Street Food Pantry each day of Lent. The 40 days of Lent begin on Ash Wednesday (March 6) and end on Easter Sunday (April 21) Sundays are not included. We hope this can be a daily practice but know that 40 days is a lot longer than it seems and life gets in the way of all of our good intentions. We encourage you to participate in a way that brings peace. You can put your donations by the Little Red Wagon in the Narthex or Parish House on a weekly basis or at the end of Lent. We’ll deliver them to the B Street Food Pantry. * The most welcome food donations are things your family enjoys that are non-perishable--even Easter Candy. Non-food donations of toiletries and necessities are also welcome.

See the website at
for a list of the most requested food pantry donations.

40 Days of Sharing Blessings
We invite you to make a daily discipline of sharing blessings during Lent. It’s simple! Set aside one non-perishable food item for donation to B Street Food Pantry each day of Lent. The 40 days of Lent begin on Ash Wednesday (March 6) and end on Easter Sunday (April 21) Sundays are not included.  We hope this can be a to daily practice but know that 40 days is a lot longer than it seems and life gets in the way of all of our good intentions. We encourage you participate in a way that brings peace. See the website at https://www.chapelofoursaviour.com/serving-in-our-community or get a handout in the Narthex for a list of the most requested food pantry donations.

B Street Food Pantry – Side dish starches (Pasta, rice, mac & cheese, instant potatoes)
The B Street Food Pantry, a satellite operation of Westside CARES provides a four-day food supply up to six times per year to households demonstrating a genuine need. Half of the neighbors served by B Street last year, were children and seniors. This month, we are collecting side dish starches. On Sunday, please put your donation in the basket by the baptismal font. Otherwise, the little red wagon will be just inside the main door of the Parish House and donations may always be dropped off there. If you’d like for us to do the shopping, write B Street Pantry in the notes portion of your donation and put it in the collection plate.

Kids’ Care Kits
Kids, we need your help to assemble Kids’ Care Kits on May 5 during Children’s Chapel at the Parish House. Kids’ Care Kits are given to children accompanying their parents at Westside CARES. Typically, the kids are stressed because their parents are stressed. The kits help to ease that stress for a bit.  Kid's Care Kits are packed in a gallon Ziploc bag and consist of a juice drink, healthy snack, a few crayons and something to color. All the supplies will be provided and all ages are welcome to help to assemble the kits. If you’d like to donate to offset the cost of the kits, please write Kids’ Care Kits on your check in the notes portion and place it in the collection plate.

The Thrift House – Thank You!
Thank you to our wonderful volunteers at the Thrift House! Last year, their dedication earned $8000 which funded 10 grants to local, state, national and international non-profit agencies and the cost of food for the Lord’s Dinner. If you’d like to volunteer, one 3-hour shift makes a lot of difference. Childcare is available. Prayerfully consider if you could give a few hours to help make a difference. Your help is always appreciated.
