This Week at Charlotte Lab School

Dear Lab Families,

I hope that everyone is feeling rested and refreshed after the long weekend. Incredibly, there are less than two weeks left in the second trimester and as we wrap up and reflect on our progress, it's the perfect time to celebrate our accomplishments and show our Lab school spirit.

This Friday we will have our school’s first ever K-7 pep rally. Students are allowed to dress down wearing green, white or gray (our school colors) and winter Lab athletes can wear their jerseys one last time before they turn them in at the end of the day. I am truly looking forward to this opportunity to bring the whole school together. Go Lions! Please note that this event is for students only.

However, we also have two great family events coming up that I want to strongly encourage you to attend:

Students vs. Teachers Basketball Game on Saturday, February 23 - See below for full details.
PTSO Meeting and Trimester 2 Showcase on Tuesday, February 26 - We will send home more information and event details later this week.

Students vs. Staff Basketball Game

Don’t miss your chance to see teachers and students battle it out for bragging rights at our first annual Students vs. Staff Basketball Game! There will be lots of games and fun, plus enjoy the debut of our Lab Lions Step Team during the half-time entertainment! Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online or in the front office.

Charlotte Checkers Spirit Night

Enjoy a night out with the Charlotte Checkers and Lab families on Friday, March 1, at the 7:00 pm game! Tickets are available online for $16 and will be emailed to you the day before the game. Contact Lory Cobb with questions. We hope to see you there!

NEWS AND UPDATES

WANTED: Front Office Volunteers

We need a few more volunteers to assist our wonderful office managers at the Lower School and Middle School from February through May. There are weekly and biweekly time slots available, or you may offer to fill in as a substitute as needed. Training will be provided; no experience is necessary. Please consider donating an item from the Teacher Wishlist to the Quest Department. Quest Department items can be found on the "School-Wide Wishlist" tab.

Still Time for 5th-7th Graders to Sign Up for Track & Field

It’s time to sign up for Spring Sports! Students in grades 5-7 are invited to join Track & Field. Ms. Johnson will follow up with families who sign up with next steps and details about practice days/times

We are also looking for a Girls Soccer Coach and a Boys Soccer Coach this season! Please email Ms. Johnson ASAP if you are interested!
