Call for Nominations: Distinguished Faculty and Staff of the Month


Distinguished Faculty of the Month: To recognize faculty service to the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine community, please submit your nominations here. All school faculty are eligible for nominations.


Distinguished Staff of the Month: To recognize staff who provide exceptional commitment and service to the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine community, please submit your nominations here. All school and BMC staff who directly support the academic, teaching and research missions of the school, (e.g., coordination of clerkship rotations) are eligible.

Faculty Regalia for 2025 Master's and MD & PhD Convocations


The 2025 Convocation Ceremonies for Master's, PhD and MD students are just around the corner. The GMS Master's Ceremony will take place on May 15 at 10 a.m. and the MD & PhD Ceremony will be held on May 15 at 3 p.m. Both ceremonies will take place at the BU Track & Tennis Center.

 

New for this year! Faculty will need to reserve their own regalia. An email from the University Provost was sent on Monday, Feb. 10 regarding this. If you do not own your own robes, you may order rental robes (at no cost to you) through the University’s cap and gown vendor, Herff Jones by filling out the order form hereMore detail on how to fill out the order form can be found here. Everyone marching in any Commencement Ceremony must wear regalia in order to participate. 

 

Important Deadlines: The deadline to order regalia is March 3.

Provost Workshop | BU Safety, Security & Preparedness: A Collaborative Approach

This workshop brings together key public safety stakeholders at Boston University—including the BU Police Department, BU Emergency Management, and BU Public Safety—to discuss their roles in ensuring a secure and prepared campus environment. A fraud specialist will provide insights into student fraud cases and prevention, while BU Emergency Management will share how they enhance campus resilience. The BU Police Department will introduce their comfort dog and discuss law enforcement efforts, and BU Public Safety will address safety topics specific to the BU Medical Campus. This session fosters collaboration and awareness to strengthen safety initiatives across the university.

Where there are people, there is conflict, so to work effectively together people must learn to negotiate their way to collaborative solutions. This session looks at what makes conflict and negotiations challenging for many people and provides skills, strategies and tips to help people resolve conflicts or advocate for themselves and others more effectively. 20th Annual John McCahan Medical Campus Education Day
