New Lunch Series for Spring 2025


The Research Administration & Finance Office is pleased to announce the launch of the Researcher Lunch and Learn Collaborative Seminar Series. 


These hybrid seminars will be monthly on the last Thursday of every month and aim to:

  • Clarify administrative processes and procedures to support research activities better.
  • Provide access to tools, resources and contacts to streamline research operations.
  • Strengthen relationships between researchers, administrative staff and BU offices.
  • Share best practices and actionable advice for operational and funding success.


Each month will feature a different topic and presenter. The first session will be on Thursday, Jan. 30, at noon, featuring the seminar, “Overview of Processes and Procedures” with Fredric Majnoun, MSAS, associate dean, Research Administration & Finance.

Art Days 2025

Date: Tuesday-Wednesday, Feb. 18-19

Time: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Location: Instructional Building (L), Hiebert Lounge


Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to submit artwork of any medium to the 35th annual BUMC Gallery for the Arts, sponsored by the Provost's Office. Art Days was started by Dean Emeritus Chobanian to foster the support and growth of the creative arts at BUMC. The exhibition is mounted by the Creative Arts Society. To be placed on the "submit list" or if you have any questions, please contact Dr. Keith Tornheim at tornheim@bu.edu or 617-358-4172. 


Artwork (paintings, photos, poetry, sculpture, needlework, etc.) will be collected on Friday, Feb. 14. Pieces should be framed if possible. Security will be provided. Work will be returned Thursday, Feb. 20. Specific instructions will be sent at a later date to those who respond to this announcement.

Please join in to hear from faculty researchers tackling issues impacting women's healthcare, including substance use disorders, cancer research, social and genetic determinants, precision diagnostics, etc. The webinar, featuring a panel of faculty from across BU, highlights research on women's health from the schools of Medicine, Public Health and Engineering. The program will feature an introduction by Boston University President Melissa Gilliam, MD, and welcome remarks by Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine Dean and Medical Campus Provost Karen Antman, MD. Jay and Louise Coffman Professor Emelia Benjamin, MD, ScM, will moderate the panel discussion followed by Q&A.
