Maintaining a Healthy Campus

As we return to campus, Boston continues to have high levels of COVID-19, influenza and RSV. 

Masks: Massachusetts continues to require masks in all health-care locations. We also strongly recommend wearing a mask in crowded areas, including classrooms and the BU Shuttle, for the first two weeks until we evaluate the situation.

COVID-19 Testing: Please test before returning to campus if you are experiencing any symptoms or have recently been exposed to someone with COVID-19. Depending on your travel over intersession, you may be required to test prior to returning to the United States. Please review the new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requirements starting on Jan. 5 here. 

Boston University PCR testing resumes on Jan. 3 for those with symptoms or exposures, Monday-Friday between 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Health Services Annex in the rear of 925 Commonwealth Ave. on the Charles River Campus.

NIH Data Management & Sharing Plan Info

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) issued its final NIH Policy for Data Management and Sharing (DMS Policy) to promote the management and sharing of scientific data generated from NIH-funded or conducted research. The new policy applies to applications with receipt dates on/after Jan. 25, 2023. 

The Research Data Management and Sharing Working Group will be hosting a virtual information session regarding the new NIH DMS Policy. To attend, please register for the virtual information session.

"Looking at the Concept of 'Confidence' in Feedback" 

with Assistant Professor of Medicine Sonia Ananthakrishnan, MD, and

This session aims to improve the knowledge, skills and attitudes of faculty who are student, resident and fellow supervisors around use and impact of the word “confidence” in feedback exchanges. 

The Department of Medical Sciences & Education hosts monthly workshops for BUMC educators to share and exchange ideas for best practices in pedagogy for graduate biomedical education.
