This workshop is designed to identify current BUMC global health initiatives to facilitate collaboration and collaborative grants among faculty working in the same locations around the world.
Faculty will be assigned to tables by continent and country to discuss initiatives and then the table will present briefly to the larger group.
We then will have a project list by country with interest group contact information for ongoing discussions.

Join us for a panel to learn more about gender affirming care initiatives for BU students, staff, faculty and our family. From direct services and providers to our medical school curriculum, panelists will speak about current initiatives and services that Boston University and Boston Medical Center currently provide in support of gender affirming care. Although the panel will be focused on BU and BMC, panelists will also speak about the national landscape and recent restrictive legislation and attacks on gender affirming care across more than half the states in the U.S. as well as federally.

Featuring Avik Chatterjee, MD, MPH, assistant professor of medicine, Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.
Dr. Chatterjee, an internal medicine and pediatrics trained physician, sees patients in shelter-based clinics in the Boston area through Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. In this talk, he will discuss the disproportionate burden of homelessness on LGBTQ+ youth, as well as the physical and mental health risks incurred by LGBTQ+ youth due to homelessness. Finally, there will be a discussion of individual-level and policy strategies to supporting homeless LGBTQ+ youth.

Please join us for a workshop on how to navigate the transitions or changes in later stages of a career. This is the first of a series of seminars and workshops on this topic: to inform and assist faculty with planning and executing late career transitions, whether these include a change in academic activities, an increased focus on mentoring, or planning for retirement.
We will hear from former and current faculty on how they have navigated their career pathways through a panel discussion, followed by Q & A.
Participants then will have breakout group discussions and report back on key topics to include for future workshops and seminars on Late Career Transitions.
