IT’S ARCOLA ELEMENTARY THANKSGIVING FOOD BAG TIME!
There are so many families that can’t afford food for their children, which is why Arcola Elementary provides two healthy meals during the school day to children in need. But what happens when there is an extended holiday? Our parish generously steps in to fill bags of nourishing food and food gift cards to help those families in need make it through the holidays.
How do you give the gift of food?
- Pick a pumpkin, turkey, acorn or leaf from the “patch” on the Outreach table.
- Take the food shopping list and/or donation envelope (if you don’t have time to shop) and fill a bag of food for the children. (Note: these items are specific and requested by the school.
- Return filled food bags to Church no later than Sunday, November 24th (sorry, no exceptions!)
It’s not only a fun and rewarding experience for the whole family, but you are Making a Difference in the lives of many children and their families who live in our own “backyard.” For questions, contact Virginia Sheard at 301-949-3372 or
